We work with couples of all skill levels go from zero ball rallies to full game play.
Ben and Marijaβs passion for the game inspired The Tennis Local, where they help couples improve their tennis skills to create healthy competition on the court. Over her long career Marija has achieved many accolades in the sport of tennis from captaining the University of Austin, Texas tennis team (go Longhorns!) to playing on the pro WTA tour.

NEW TENNIS DRILL!
Partner shadow swing
You'll need:
β’ 1 tennis racquet
β’ 1 tennis ball
β’ Your partner!
Forehand
1. Stand far enough apart so you avoid hitting your partner with the racquet!
2. One partner tosses the ball upward slightly in front of other partner
3. Partner with racquet does a shadow swing forehand just beneath the ball not hitting it
4. Catch the ball & repeat!
Make sure to toss the ball slightly in front
Balance it out! Now do you backhand
1. Stand far enough apart so you avoid hitting your partner with the racquet
2. One partner tosses the ball upward slightly in front of other partner
3. Partner with racquet does a shadow swing backhand just beneath the ball not hitting it
4. Catch the ball & repeat!
Switch positions and repeat!
This works on your:
- Impact point
- Focus
- Technique

Great tennis drill from home with your spouse to work on hand eye coordination, ball control, racquet feel and team work!
Grab a tennis racquet, ball and your favourite spouse!
1) Toss the ball to yourself
2) Bounce it on your own racquet two times
3) Catch the ball and toss it into your spouse's hand
4) Spouse repeats and keep practicing !
LEVEL UP!
1) Toss the ball to yourself
2) Bounce the ball twice on your own racquet
3) On the third bounce, bounce the ball to your spouse
4) Your spouse does the same thing to continue the rally
