Good morning from BellHaven.
We're getting ready for a large prescribed burn here at BellHaven at Sugar Hill. We'll be using controlled fire to improve wildlife habitat on 163 of our 225 acres. Nate has been working for more than a year on getting the firelines prepared.
We're working closely with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and Ozark Prairie Prescribed Burn Association to ensure that the burn is completed safely and that the results benefit the land and wildlife.
We'll share some photos and video from burn day as soon as it's completed.
Rock walls, man made and God made never cease to amaze us.
We grow the trees big in these parts. The pictures don’t do the size of the trees justice.
A couple of finds on Thanksgiving Day.
BellHaven is still showing off her Fall colors.
The rock walls are a reminder of those who lived here before and the hard work they endured to sustain life for their families. Each of those rocks are heavy and are reflective of a determination and will to survive.
Beauty abounds.

The sweet potato plants are taking over the BellHaven garden. These were grown for Phyllis. She will definitely need help eating the potatoes when they are harvested.

“To my mind, voyaging through wildernesses, be they full of woods or waves, is essential to the growth and maturity of the human spirit. It is in the wilderness that you really learn who you are.” Stephen Callahan
We hope you explore nature this weekend.
