I think I'll have to start doing something like this with Deer and Fawn- not only is it super cute, it also helps bees and other pollinators and makes for a pretty garden 🌸🌱💚🌍🐝🦋

I thought I'd do a little post about our packaging 😃 I LOVE PACKAGING. Tissue paper, craft stamps (will do a video on my huge collection of stamps soon!), the right postage boxes... we are plastic free all the way 🌎💚
We may be a tiny business, but it's sooooooo important that we do our bit. And if that means spending hours researching eco friendly packaging and hive wrap, we'll do it!
We're always looking for ways to improve and adapt and an FSC certification is a must when it comes to the papers we use for our crafts. Is it important to you that the businesses you buy from are as eco-friendly as possible?

These paper bouquets are the cutest, they really are 💐 I made this one for my darling friend because... well, do I need a reason?!
These particular ones are made using beautiful 90gsm paper which is a dream to work with.
It's also FSC certified, so good for the planet 💚🌍

I don't like chain things, so I decided to adapt it to suit me- so I asked 7 (a magical number) of my friends to comment on the post and I'd be sending them some at some point this year ☺️

I've been making these little crayons for years... they make the perfect stocking filler, party bag accessory and must have for busy bags 😊
It's a great way of using up the unloved broken bits in the crayon box and making them brand new again ❤️ We love recycling at our house ❤️
I make them in all sorts of shapes and they are packaged in 100% biodegradable and eco-friendly glassine bags.

Day two of 's is making an image... Here's mine 🥰
When you're at home making pretty things, getting covered in cotton and fabric fluff, paint and glitter it makes it all just that bit more magical when the ping ping of an Etsy sale rings in your ears ❤️
So for this week (and hopefully all the other weeks forever) try and shop small, from little independent businesses and Etsy shops. From creative people who sell at markets in church halls. Peruse your local high street for all the one off quirky things. Get your Christmas cards from an artist and your flowers from a local florist. Do workshops and support the movers and creators in your local area.
Try and keep it going all year... Because we don't stop making after Christmas and people always need birthday gifts, I love you gifts, baby clothes, wedding pressies, flowers and cards. Spend your pennies where they really make a difference ❤️
's INDIE WEEK has arrived! Let's jump right in shall we? I'll set the scene...
I'm in one of the indie shops on Kings Road in looking for Christmas gift ideas and I hear 'Lexie, hi, how are you? What are you up to these days?' I look up and an old friend who I haven't seen in yonks is smiling at me 🥰
"Oh hi sweetheart (I say), I've been busy making things for my little Etsy shop. You know how I love to make things and brand things and market things and make everything pretty... So I made a shop! It's called Deer and Fawn and I make paper stars, garlands, crowns and wands and bunting and... well... anything I feel like making really. I'm experimenting with clay at the moment and I recently made lots of decorations for the Royal Albert Hall which is pretty darn cool right? Deer and Fawn makes me really happy as I get to be creative and paint, sew, draw and all from the comfort of my cosy little home with my fluffy little Dog-Friend next to me ❤️ I'm also the chief cheerleader of St Leonards and local businesses at where I can- and do- shout about our little town all day long 🤩
We go on to have a cup of tea and cake where I hear what she's been up to too ❤️

The ethos is to support, promote and encourage independent businesses so they can grow and thrive and succeed ❤️ If everybody who liked a post or favourited an item bought 'just a card' or one small thing from a small business, it not only supports small enterprises over huge corporations and chains, but it really makes a difference to the real person behind the scenes who is putting their heart and soul into whatever they make and do and likely battling things no-one has any idea about... illness, mental health, financial hardship, bereavement, breakups, being new parents... creativity helps keeps a person going and your support really does mean a lot ❤️

I had the BEST time at 's garland workshop last night at 😍 I'm so pleased with how my garland turned out... I feel this might become my new thing 🥰

I don't know about you, but I made a decision to do my Christmas shopping from small, independent businesses this year and it's pretty exciting truth be told! I've discovered so many cool, quirky, one-of-a-kind little businesses (local to me and on Etsy) that Christmas shopping is going to be super fun this year ❤️ (One of Henry's pressies arrived yesterday and he is going to LOVE it)
Just a Card's Indie week is coming (25th-29th), which is a chance to support the independent shops, makers, crafters, artisans and small businesses by buying 'just a card' or anything else that will help grow a little venture into something bigger 😍
So, go, go, Go...seek out the little guys and support your local high streets and Etsy shops this Christmas. It'll be fun, I promise 😊🌟🤩🥰

My little helper today 😍 Badger likes to get under the blanket and cosy up... He's a little love-hound ❤️ Polly doesn't like it when Badger gets too cosy, so steals the blanket... She literally just got his piece of blanket in her mouth and pulled it over herself 😂😂😂😂
