New home build season!!!

These are actually our favorite cleans to do! They are very time consuming and very detailed, to make it perfect for the new homeowners. Making a new home appear untouched like the whole thing just came out of a box is not an easy task, but we are always up for the challenge. Just under 3k sq ft. All custom built, we were so focused on finishing touches to polishing fixtures, appliances, and floors as we worked our way out the door we forgot to get a final photo of the beautiful kitchen!

Our home was built in 1915. Facebook kept sending me posts from an old home group about people restoring their old homes.

I made the mistake of joining the group and looking at homes from 1915. Realizing areas of our home that have been covered up with paint and carpet.

I decided to pick at a chip in the paint of our stairwell and discover the original hard red wood underneath. And now I am committed. And we know it has beautiful hard wood floors that need sanded and restored. Our stairs likely looked similar to 2nd and 3rd photo. A wall was also added at some point closing off the stairwell…I plan on removing that wall.

Why you shouldn’t use mop and glo!!!

What is it- a water based wax popular in the 60’s-80’s advertised to make your linoleum shine, while protecting it!

Mop and glo is highly damaging to floors cause a black discoloration over time and a lot of work to remove and restore the natural seal and luster of linoleum.

Myself and a team scrubbed by hand due to the chances of a buffer machine pulling up this flooring. 17 years of this person using mop and glow on the floors weekly as if it were pine sol! That is layer upon layer of a waxy tar that is accumulated with dirt, grease, and grime!

But man did they turn out looking wonderful after some truly back breaking work!
