Here is a little story about my journey in my career.

When I was in high school I was so lost in what I wanted to do. I had good grades throughout school, and fairly enjoyed learning.

One morning an adult asked me : “What do you want to do after highschool?

Well I replied

“I would really like to be a cosmologist and open my very own salon one day, I love the world of beauty!”

She replied

“Oh no that’s a terrible idea! The beauty industry is a luxury not a necessity! You will not succeed in this, you should go to university instead!”


After this conversation I was so distraught and didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life so after I graduated I took a year off to really think about what I wanted to do. I enjoyed many adventures throughout that year!

Then one morning after I finished a night shift I decided to apply for Beauty school. I decided to not listen to anyone and to follow my heart. I was approved that very same week and started the process of my student loan application. It was very scary for me to do this all on my own but I was determined to succeed in my dreams.

I moved to a bigger city with just one suitcase in my hand. I pushed through all obstacles I went through and kept myself focused through it all.

I had the best teachers at Majestany! They were there every step of the way for me. On the first week of my second program I was having trouble finding a job to be able to continue my course , and one of the aesthetics teachers looked at me and said “You were made to do this, do not give up! You got this”.. I don’t think she knows how much she had an impact me with her kindness. So again I put my drive and determination towards getting to my goals and proceeded to fight.

Here I am today with a Hair & Medical Aesthetic License and my very own little salon ( and not to mention the cherry on top of having my mom work with me as well) , I have a client list of 153 regular clients for all sorts of services and a wait list of over 60 names, working more than 80 hours a week and constantly having a client in front of me.… I came a long way to finally say :

No ma’am it is not just a luxury, to these women I am their person who they can come to whenever they need a good cry about hardships in their life, I am there to enjoy their happiest moments with them and have a good laugh! I am able to uplift their confidence by enhancing their natural beauty! I cannot tell you how these women appreciate that I am there for them.

So to those beautiful little girls who stop themselves to what others will say or have said to them. I can assure you that they are not always right in what they say.
