Great Lakes Foodie
Documenting food across the Great Lakes and other places.
is a destination we will return to. Flights galore!
nailed it again for us. The Elk Ragu was a first time experience for me. Had to end the night with the caramel creme brûlée.
Love eating at one of my favorite places on Earth. Rohr’s is 5 star class across the board. Go ☘️
Finally, found a good ole fashioned fish fry at the Hillcrest Bar and Grill. I haven’t had fish this good in a long time. Local treasures are the best. Hillcrest BAR and Grill
It’s skimpy because it’s plate number 5 🤷🏻♂️. The brunch buffet at The Barns at Nappanee was amazing. We will definitely return.
The Enchantment Resort in Sedona was amazing and we wish we could’ve stayed longer. It was the most calming and scenic resort we have been to. Che Ah Chi was the restaurant we went to and had an excellent ostrich (yes, you read that right...ostrich).
Still craving the prime rib I had at the Captain’s Cabin in Angola. The potato ended up as a snack the next day. #
It’s been awhile since we’ve been out- hibachi sounded good and Hana Yori hit the spot.
Duck nachos, chicken pot pie, Carolina BBQ sandwich, bottle of Riesling.. and then a mega milkshake top off.
Merry Christmas! Prime rib. Meat provided by Bill’s Steakhouse in Bronson.
Not too shabby- homemade banana peanut butter treat- “not ice cream” but who can tell.
Another delicious dinner at Corndance! Ham Hock Cupcake, the Sword of John Adams, and Banana Napoleon.
Excellent- that’s French for well, excellent. Lumiere at Le Blanc was an eye opener for French cuisine. I think I’m going to eat escargot more often.
Lunch at Le Blanc!
Day 1 at Le Blanc Spa and Resort in Cancún. So far, the 5 Diamond rating has been evident.
Looking for some Sunday brunch? The small plate brunch at Clara’s on the River was perfect in the Cereal City. Great selection of brunchy drinks too!
Fantastic steak, chicken, and beef lollipops at Fisher Lake Inn this week. Always a nice local go to.
It was the third location we went to, but I’m glad we ended up at The Riviera Theatre in Three Rivers. This pizza had a perfect amount of crips and doughiness. Highly recommended!
I’m going to have to eat at the Houndstooth Restaurant in Benton Harbor sometime this winter when I’m looking for some comfort food. Thank you Farrand Hall for hosting the dinner and giving the platform.
Satisfying steak. No better place to celebrate a birthday! Bill’s Steakhouse has also added a chic outdoor seating area with fireplaces, perfect for the Fall.
Delicious burnt ends, Mac and cheese, and beans...and that was after fried green tomatoes, pork rinds, and pulled pork nachos. Bacon Hill Kitchen and Pub was the perfect place to end the summer weather
Couldn’t eat it all, but I wanted to. One of the top brunches around is at . Pancake board and Monte Cristo 🥰
Amazing birthday dinner for my wife at Artisan in Elkhart. The staff members were thoughtful and courtly. Thanks for a wonderful night.
I could get fat eating at Fat Cam’s. Delicious!
Been craving this for awhile at Geno’s East in South Haven. Brings Chicago a little closer to home.
The famous Hangover Brunch at Evil Czech Brewery. Great food even without a hangover.
Came into White Pigeon early to get this Pigeon Inn special...homemade Mac and cheese with pulled pork and garlic toast. I can see why it sells out fast.
Caramel filled dipped cone and peanut butter and grape jelly soft serve. Yes, this is real at Dari Fair in Mishawaka.
After walking we needed to refuel at . Fantastic setting and treats! @ Cherry Republic
Quick stop on the way up North.
I eat steak from two places- my grill and Bill’s Steakhouse in Bronson, MI. Tonight I ate the whole 32oz Porterhouse and my wife had the 20oz New York Strip. You won’t leave here hungry.
Nothing beats eating with the fresh breeze of the lake blowing on you. Can’t remember how I found the Bent Prop Pub, but we’ve already talked about returning. The food and dessert was fantastic. @ Bent Prop Pub
The hometown legend, the Tasty Nut Shop. Celebrating 💯 years this year. Nickel candy, old-fashioned soda, and ice cream.
The Country Scramble at Rachael’s in White Pigeon will last you 3 breakfasts, and that’s coming from me.
Couldn’t resist diving into this shake before the camera cam3 out. What a treat!
