Meg's Health and Fitness Journey

Meg's Health and Fitness Journey

Hi guys! Welcome to my health and fitness journey! I will be beginning a new postpartum journey after having my second baby! Watch me or join me!

26/06/2021

Working out from home has been a game changer for me!!! I get out of bed, mix my pre, head to my basement and press play on my workout.

I don't have to commute to and from a gym, figure out what to do with my kids during that time and waste my time figuring out what workout to do while I'm there. Gyms work great for some people but they aren't my jam 🤷‍♀️

Here are 5 tips to help you be successful doing at home workouts:

1. Set out your workout clothes the night before. I don't know about you but I'd feel too much shame putting them back in my drawer and not doing the work 🤦‍♀️

2. Get enough sleep 💤. I need to work on this one myself!!

3. Find your people or person to do the workouts with you(virtually). Accountability is everything!!!

4. Make goals and track your progress. This helps so much with motivation 🙌

5. Invest in good quality workout clothes NOW. Not when you're at your "ideal body image". Feeling good in your clothes makes a huge difference not only mentally but helps with your performance 👍

Do you drink enough water? Do you know how much water you're supposed to drink per day?

Water is so important for SO many different reasons. Here are just a few:

➡️carries nutrients and oxygen to your cells

➡️flushes bacteria from your bladder

➡️helps with digestion

➡️prevents constipation

➡️normalizes blood pressure

➡️stabilizes your heartbeat

➡️cushions joints

➡️protects organs and tissues

➡️regulates body temperature

Tips for drinking more water:

🌠get a water bottle that holds alot of water that way if you're on the go, you will always have water handy!

🌠buy a marked water bottle for motivation and to stay on track

🌠add fruit to your water for flavour

🌠drink sparkling water instead of pop

🌠eat water rich foods like cucumber, watermelon, zucchini and grapefruit

Tips for being successfull in your wellness journey:

1️⃣ Don't overcomplicate it . Healthy doesn't have to mean crazy expensive or extravagant meals. Start simple and small

2️⃣ Don't compare your journey to someone else's. Everyone's bodies are SO different. Stop comparing and focus on your journey! 🚫

3️⃣ Be consistent. Show up for yourself in your nutrition and move your body.

4️⃣ Make it a lifestyle. Fuel your body with nutritious foods but also eat the treats. It's all about balance and not depriving yourself!

5️⃣ Meal prep/plan. This is a game changer. It helps you be prepared so you aren't reaching for unhealthy foods in a pinch.

P.S. These photos are 8 months apart. This is a lifelong journey! Believe in yourself and trust the process 💜

I have been absolutely loving my journey as a Zyia Rep!! There are many things I wish I had known or realized before I started Zyia but here are my top 5️⃣:

1. How many new friends I would meet!!!

2. How much FUN it would be!

3. How much it would make me step outside of my comfort zone.

4. That it is O.K to fail and make mistakes. Give yourself grace, get back up and try again 🙌

5. How much this experience was going to change my life and make me a more confident person!

There are 6 months between these photos. I was 7 weeks postpartum in the first photo and was starting my 2nd postpartum journey.

These results came from consistency in my workouts and my nutrition. This program gave me the tools to succeed and reach my goals. There is no final destination or "after" photo. This is a lifelong journey!

These photos only show the physical transformation which is great but there has also been a mental transformation. I have found a healthy relationship with food and have really learned self-love and self-care.

I love my body in both of these photos for different reasons and will continue to love my body no matter what🥰

9 Week Control Freak results are in....

-2.6lbs
-10 inches
+Gained muscle
-Clothes fit better

It's always used to be about the number on the scale for me but I have learned that the scale is only a small part of my journey. I don't obsess about the number. Instead I focus on how I feel in my clothes and how I feel overall!

I feel so strong, this bathing suit fits better and I feel good in my skin!

This program was 45 workouts, 18-30 minutes long, 5 days a week. It was so manageable and challenged my mind and body like never before💪

I am proud of how far I've come and I am excited to continue this journey to a healthier life. This is a journey, not a destination. This program may be finished but I am starting a new program tomorrow and will continue to workout and eat healthy to be strong for myself and my family 🥰

I have not always been into health and fitness. It actually makes me laugh because I used to be the exact OPPOSITE. I was the girl who hated gym class in school because I was overweight and not good at playing sports.

If you had asked me years ago to run I would have laughed out loud. But the thing is, I never tried! I was too afraid of being made fun of and I was too afraid to fail.

I look back at the girl I was and realize how much I have grown because I decided to make a change. I stopped feeling sorry for myself and took action. It sounds easier than it was. It was not easy and I still struggle but am I ever glad I started. We all have a Day 1. We all struggle but that is part of life!

Whatever you do please do. not. QUIT! Keep showing up. Keep being consistent. You are in control and you are worth it💜

A little photo for you! This was after my 40-45 pound weight loss a few years ago.

I was the fittest, strongest, healthiest I had been in my entire life. I had confidence and self-love probably for the first time ever. Not because I was "skinny" but because I was simply healthy.

It was the little things.... not feeling completely winded going up a flight of stairs, not eating my weight in unhealthy foods constantly and actually having energy.

I was proud of what I had accomplished. This was a huge deal for me(many unfailed "diets"🙄 in the past). Some told me I had gotten too "skinny" and that I should eat something(guys, I eat alotttt🤣). No matter WHAT you do, it's never going to be good enough for someone else. Our bodies are incredible. Love your body no matter what stage of life you are in.

Just be good enough for you. Stop worrying about what everyone else has to say and just do YOU!!❤

This weeks meal prep!

Meal prepping sets me up for a successful week and saves me soooo much time during the week!!⏰

Do you meal plan/prep?!

30/01/2021

If you've been watching me the last few months, you know that I've started a new workout and nutrition program that is 🔥

After having Parker 5 months ago, I needed a change. Something different, challenging, effective and FUN!

There are over 1500 workouts to choose from in our library!!! It is amazing. The community, workouts, nutrition plans and accountability groups are incredible!!

I have started loving my body again which is the best feeling and I knew I wanted to start helping other women feel the same way🥰

If you want a sneak peak👀 into the program I am doing, I will be running a FREE group on Facebook in February!! PM me or comment below if you want to check it out👇💗

19/01/2021

Why I workout at home:

1. I can literally roll out if bed and press play on my workout.
2. I don't have to match my workout clothes if I don't want to.
3. No commute to the gym (save time and money).
4. I have a trainer yelling at me and telling me what to do for dirt cheap.
5. Safe and easy!! (No covid) ✌

12/01/2021

Day 1 of our new program is in the books and it was a good one!!

I love starting something new and exciting. It keeps things interesting and challenges my body and mind.

Here's to amazing growth both physically and mentally over the next 9 weeks 💪🙌

07/01/2021

There are 3 months, 12 pounds and about 10 inches between these 2 photos.

Starting my second postpartum journey was daunting. I didn't know where to start until I joined my current program. The workouts are literally at my fingertips and I get to do them from the comfort of my own home AND the nutrition plans are the bomb.com 💣

The super trainers have designed the programs for us that are proven to get us *long lasting* results. The nutrionists have taken the time to design meal plans where NO food groups are off limits and are not restrictive. I don't do restrictive 🚫 I don't have to think about anything!!! And I get to eat chocolate and drink wine😍

I am slowly regaining my confidence back after having 2 babies and that is the best feeling!! The only regret I have is that I didn't start sooner.

It doesn't matter where you are in your journey. Just START. I promise you, you will not regret it!

And of course I am only a PM away to help you get started on your journey ❤

What are your thoughts on New Year's resolutions??

My thoughts are that they don't work!!! 🚫

You start off strong in January and maybe going into February but then by the time March rolls around, you've given up because it's too hard to stick to a diet and unrealistic exercise plan long term. I know because this was me every year on January 1st for yearsssss🙋‍♀️.

Sure, diets work for a bit but then you get loosey goosey and "fall off the wagon" going back to your old habits because it's too restrictive.

Find something that you can make a lifestyle and I promise it won't be hard to stay consistent with. That's exactly what I've found and I will never look back!!! 👀

I found something that I can alter to my fit into my schedule FROM HOME. I can eat chocolate, drink wine, eat pizza, whatever and still reach my goals. Sounds too good to be true right? I thought so too but I promise it's not. I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't love it and it didn't work.

Hit me up for deets and ditch those New Year's resolutions FOR GOOD✌

Nutrition is probably one of the things people struggle with most. I know it used to be the hardest thing for me to get down but now that I have been eating healthy for a few years, it comes ALOT easier!

Cooking and eating healthy CAN be intimidating and scary but it doesn't have to be. My #1 rule is to KEEP IT SIMPLE.

I used to think eating healthy meant more money, more time in the kitchen and more complicated but it absolutely does not have to be that way! Once I started my journey to a healthier life, I quickly realized none of those things were true. I was actually saving money by not eating out all of the time and I learned to make easy meals in the kitchen that didn't take up alot of time.

Don't overthink it. Don't overcomplicate it and don't get discouraged. There are so many delicious recipes out there that are quick and easy and can still keep you on track with your nutrition.

What you put in your body everyday is super important. You can workout all you want but you cannot outrun your fork🍴

If you need some guidance or some recipes ideas our Bootcamp offers just that! Message me and I would be happy to help get you on track with your nutrition😊

Give yourself the gift of health this season🎁🎄

We often take our health and our bodies for granted. We don't take care of our bodies like we should and it's time to change that!

This past year has been anything but predictable. It has been full of stress, depression, anger, frustration, sadness and so much more which has caused alot of people to overeat and not take care of themselves like they should.

This virus will not magically disappear on January 1st but we can still start the New Year fresh! Take control of your body and mind. I don't want you to think that just because you are committing to this journey that you have to be perfect all the time and can never have your favourite treats ever again. That is NOT the case. Trust me. If it was, I wouldn't be doing this.

Let's gain back control of what we can control. Give yourself the gift of health this Christmas and never look back❤

17/12/2020

Consistency is key.

Doing something day in and day out is what will lead to long term results and long term habits.

You aren't going to get to where you want to be in a week, a month or maybe even a year. It initially took me 2 years to lose 40 pounds because I didn't deprive myself, go on some crazy diet or take any magic pills. It was me showing up for myself everyday in my workouts and nutrition that got me where I wanted to be!

I must have started and quit 10 times back then because I wasn't seeing results fast enough for my liking but looking back, I also wasn't changing my habits so of course I wasn't seeing results🤷‍♀️

If you want to see change, you have to change what you're doing. Its as simple as that!

Fast forward to postpartum journey #2 and I am doing that all over again. I don't have as much weight to lose this time around and my focus is more on getting strong and feeling good in my skin again💃

I know it can be hard but stay consistent and I promise you will get to where you want to be!

This is what happened when I stopped making excuses. I used to make excuses to not prioritize my health ALL THE TIME.

Oh I'll just start on Monday.
Monday rolls around...oh next Monday is the start of a new month so I'll just start then.
That new month rolls around but it's November so F it, I'll just start fresh Jan 1st.
I just binge ate all weekend so I'll get back on track Monday.

These were literally the constant thoughts running through my head. And guess what? Even after all of that I still didn't start. What was stopping me? Nobody but MYSELF.

I would make every excuse in the book because I thought everything had to be PERFECT before/when I started my journey. News flash...it does not!!

I don't have the perfect workout space. Excuse.
I don't know where to start with my nutrition so I won't bother. Excuse.
I don't know how I'll find the time to workout. Excuse.
I have kids. Excuse.
I'm too busy. Excuse.
I have a back injury. Excuse.

All excuses!!! And I used to tell myself all of these things too until 1 day I finally decided to stop making excuses and just make it work. I'm not saying you have to run a marathon lol...I'm just here to tell you if you want something bad enough, you will make it work. I did and I know you can do it too ❤

15/12/2020

Why did I start coaching?

Because I am passionate about health and fitness and want to help women feel and look their best!!

I know what it's like to feel crappy and need help. I don't want other women to feel the same way I did!!

I know some of you may not want to hear this but....there's nothing magic about what I do. YOU have to put in the work to get to where you want to be! But I am here to help guide you and help you get there!

It will not happen overnight. Starting small and making gradual small changes will help you make this a lifestyle. This is not a diet or a quick fix.

Also, as a mom of 2, I feel like that is ALL that I am sometimes. A mom. That is my identity and while I absolutely love it, I wanted more!!! I wanted to be able to fill my cup in other ways as well. I was doing the workouts anyways so I thought "why not help other women at the same time?" I honestly can't believe I waited this long to get started!! This program is too good not to share.

If you want to join our bootcamp or have questions about becoming a coach, DM me. I can answer any questions you have about either 🥰

There are no prerequisites for coaching. All you need is the desire and passion to help other women feel their best❤

When was the last time you did something for yourself?

When was the last time you felt good in your skin?

When was the last time you felt confident?

Until recently it had been a while for me.

I was sick of feeling blah.
Sick of feeling sorry for myself.
Sick of feeling tired.
Sick of feeling unmotivated.

I decided to make a change and I feel SO much better. Other than being tired because 😂. But in all seriousness, when I felt crappy I acted crappy.

I realized that no one was going to do the work for me. The weight wasn't going to come off itself. I had to work for it. The only one that was going to make myself feel better and healthier was me.

Is it a nuisance working out with my kids sometimes? Absolutely. But I always feel so much better afterwards!!

Do something for you this Christmas. Treat yourself because you deserve it!!!🎁🎄

This may look like a transformation post but these pictures were taken 2 seconds apart. Just a reminder not to believe everything you see on the internet or social media👌

While I absolutely LOVE my leggings, they don't show the real stuff. My mama tummy, my cellulite or my stretch marks. This stuff is NORMAL and should be celebrated🎉

Please stop comparing yourself and your journey to others. Every body, every person and every journey is completely different. Focus on yourself and your goals! You do you! Because your opinion of yourself is all that matters🙌

28/11/2020

To all of the mamas out there who need reminding that you are important too. It doesn't make you selfish or bad mom if you take time for yourself!!!

I usually get up in the mornings to do my workout before the boys wake up and my husband leaves for work but that didn't happen today. Parker was wide awake. I could have easily skipped my workout and said F it but I made a commitment to myself to take this time for ME!

You are worth it mamas! Just because you have kids doesn't mean you should let yourself struggle and fall to the wayside. I know it's hard to find time but you have to MAKE the time. If you really want something or if it's really important to you, you WILL carve out the time. Plain and simple. No excuses! Mom or not. I'm not going to sugar coat it.

Work hard and you will see and feel the changes you've always wanted😊

I said no to this opportunity so many times before I actually made a change and joined this amazing community!

My coach Jaime's Health & Fitness Journey must have reached out to me a handful of times in the last couple years and I turned her down each time because I was comfortable and didn't want to make any changes. I was always scared of change. Is the grass really greener? I'm here to tell you that IT IS!

I probably watched her stories everyday for 2 years before realizing this is something that I needed. I watched her get up day after day and do her workouts. I watched her succeed and struggle with her nutrition. She is human. We are all human. I thought if she could do it, so could I!!

I knew after having Parker that I needed a change. I felt stuck. I finally messaged her and said I'M IN! ALL IN! I wanted to better myself while also helping other women. I went for it and I'm so glad I did!!

Change is hard but it's so worth it. What do you have to lose?

Want to learn more about my bootcamp or the coaching opportunity? DM me with your questions🥰

I joined as a Independent Zyia Active Representative recently and I am so glad I did!!! I've already met so many amazing women who lift eachother up daily and who want to see you succeed!

I have loved their Activewear for a while now and decided why not also share my love for the company and the product with others?!

Zyia has a women, mens and kids line!! Super cute styles and top quality product. I will seriously never buy any other brand every again! I love it SO much. You can wear their products whether you're at the gym, working out from home or running errands. Their stuff is so comfortable that you'll want to live in it😍

I am having a Launch Party on Nov 30th! Let me know if you are interested in finding out more info about the company and their products and I can add you into the group!!❤

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY!

6 weeks:

➡️7.6 lbs lost
➡️10 inches lost
➡️A new mindset gained

I am seriously still so mind blown by this transformation. I never could have imagined as good results as this in just 6 weeks. I was 7 weeks postpartum when I started this program.

I showed up for my workouts everyday and dialed in on my nutrition. That's it!! No magic pill, and no quick fix. I will not be yo yo-ing or gaining all the weight back because I have the tools to continue down this path.

It is the best feeling in the world knowing that I have finally found something that works and can tailor it to my lifestyle.

If you are looking for a quick fix, skinny tea or magic pill keep on scrollin'. There is nothing quick or easy about this journey but it is worth all of the hard work just to feel good in my own body and mind!!

I have learned over the years that you can workout all you want but you can't outrun your fork! Nutrition plays a huge part in your journey.

My journey definitely has ups and downs and is NOT perfect but the first step is showing up. With so many different workouts to choose from there is something for everyone!

I am FIRED up and want to help YOU learn the tools that are going to set you up for success!!😁

23/11/2020

I'm so proud of what my body has done for me the last 3 years...growing and housing 2 beautiful babies. It has left me some skin and some weight in my tummy area.

Am I sad about it? No.
Am I proud of it? Hell yes.

I move my body because I can.
I move my body because I'm proud of it.
I move my body because it makes me feel good.
I don't move my body as a form of punishment or to "work off" the food I have eaten.

My body has done nothing but amazing things for me. And while I am trying to get back to how good my body felt before I had kids, I am continuing to love my body throughout my journey.

It has never actually been about the number on the scale but how my body FEELS at a certain number. I want to feel my best for me and for those around me.

Because when you serve yourself, you also serve others.

I want to help you FEEL your best and be your BEST self ❤

22/11/2020

I am officially done my 6 week program!! It was better than I could have ever imagined. I was 7 weeks postpartum when I started it and now i feel stronger than ever!

But let's be real, it was not easy. Getting up early every morning and working out was hard but I made a commitment to myself and my team that I was going to do this! I stumbled, I was uncoordinated and I struggled but I knew I had to show up for myself. No one else is going to do the work for you and nothing will change if you don't make changes!

These cordless skipping ropes were a silent killer and a huge part of my success with this specific program. I am on a total high and can't wait to start my next program soon!

Do the hard things. Your body might feel like giving up but it's your mindset that will get you through. Be positive and give yourself grace. It won't be perfect all the time but its about progress, not perfection.

Who wants to work alongside me to be the best versions of themselves? 🙋‍♀️

20/11/2020

Favourite Friday!!

A few of you have been asking about the weights I have been using to workout with. They are Bowflex Adjustable weights and they are my favourite! They take up NO space and are easy to adjust.

They go up to 52.5 pounds per dumbbell which I will personally never be able to curl lol but so great to have so many weight options all in one! And I don't have to worry about my kids lifting them and getting hurt. I always set them on a heavy setting so there is no way they would be able to lift them up!

This is not a sponsored ad, just sharing one of my favourite pieces of workout equipment💪
