FUMC Clinton Children's Ministry
Methodist children's ministry at First United Methodist in Clinton, Mississippi.
We celebrated Jesus with a birthday party this morning! There were sparkler candles, cupcakes, the Christmas story, pin the tail on Mary’s donkey, and ornament painting!
Miss Cindy and the nursery group are just the best!
The kids have decked the halls of the gym, drank hot chocolate, ate Christmas cookies, made some crafts, and lit the advent wreath!
Hanging of the Green for the Children’s ministry has begun! We will be here until 5pm, and then you can stay and sing some Christmas songs with Mr. Tommy for the kid’s Christmas program!
This morning our children laid hands on the 102 Operation Christmas Child boxes donated by our church members. They prayed for health, blessings, comfort and hope for each child around the world who receives one of these boxes. When the pastor asked the kids what Operation Christmas Child was, Holden confidently answered that a big plane takes these boxes around the world and if they see a kid who needs one they give it to them. There are oh so many children without the comforts of a home. So these boxes are filled with toys and necessities, and now they are filled with our children’s prayers. This project has been a great way for our youngest believers to to participate in the Kingdom and be a living saint.
Our Children’s Handbell Choir played the Prelude for the Traditional service this morning.
5th Sunday Breakfast was a yummy success!
Pumpkins were a big theme for our kids this morning. We learned that we are a lot like a pumpkin. When we accept Jesus into our hearts God washes all the dirt off of us. He scoops all the slimy sun out of us. And He puts a smile on our faces and His light inside of us to shine in the darkness.
This morning in Sunday School we learned all about the parable of the Pumpkin Patch. And then we tried a fun science experiment that was a complete failure… but a glorious mess was made. And we learned how to shine our light for Jesus!
Our Children’s Choir blessed us in the Traditional service this morning with “On This Day.” Tessa Stewart was the soloist and did a beautiful job!
This weekend is a GREAT time to buy Halloween for Trunk or Treat!!!
Children’s Sunday School tomorrow is going to be a fun time! We will be learning about the Parable of the Pumpkin Patch and doing a crazy experiment! Your kids won’t want to miss it!
Choir practice for these sweet kids is Sunday evenings at 5pm with Mr. Tommy.
Children’s Handbells began our Traditional Service with “Sweet Hour” of prayer this morning. The sweetest sounds from the sweetest kiddos.
Some of our littlest ladies having fellowship with Miss Cindy in the nursery this morning!
These sweet kiddos assembled A LOT of birthday boxes for the 4Cs! Thank you for your donations! We love teaching these kids about helping others and being the hands and feet of Christ!
Congratulations to our three memory verse masters of the week!
Cherub Choir with Mr. Tommy is so fun!
We are still taking donations for birthday boxes! There are boxes placed around the church to collect your donations. If you would like to donate money please see Nikki or Lauren! Or you can message this page and we will help!
Birthdays are meant to be celebrated – and falling on hard financial times shouldn’t be a reason to not celebrate it. We hope that these birthday cake boxes will help in some small way – maybe to parent(s) who don’t have money to buy their child a birthday cake or even an adult who is worried about taking care of everyone else, that he/she can’t afford anything for themselves.
On September 28, our kids are making birthday boxes for the food pantry. We are accepting donations in the office of cake mixes, cans of Sprite, frosting, blank birthday cards, birthday candles, birthday banners and aluminum baking pans. You can supply the items to build a birthday box or you can assemble a completed box to donate.
TO ASSEMBLE THE BIRTHDAY CAKE BOXES:
Just place all of the things you wish to include in your birthday cake box inside of the disposable 9×13 foil cake pan. If you have purchased one with a lid, attach the lid to the top. Easy peasy!

We have so much fun on Wednesday nights! Grab your kiddos for dinner at 5:15 with kids fun at 6!

This Sunday FUMC presented our third graders with a Bible. As a church when a child is baptized we promise to help love and care for each child and to teach them about Jesus. This is one step in the journey FUMC promises to undertake with parents. We love these third graders big!
