We have had a lot of fun this week! Here are a few pics I managed to get....
They wanted to do silly pictures, so we did! We played outside and had ice cream from the Ice Cream Truck! Making memories in Kindergarten!
This week we are celebrating Earth Day on the 22nd. We started a unit on Recycling, Reusing, and Reduce to protect our Earth. Before the weather goes crazy, we went on a Nature Walk in front of the school. The students were able to listen to the birds chirping, see a bird's nest, and feel leaves on shrubs. They absolutely loved it!!!!!
We used watercolors to paint Easter eggs. One of them said, "This is so satisfying!" Mrs. Debbie and I cracked up laughing!
The students had a blast hunting Easter eggs! Shout out to sixth grade for hiding our eggs!
Today, in Math, we used linking cubes to write expressions within 7. The students had fun working with their Math partners completing the assignment.
Mrs. Debbie brought some leprechaun dust and milk for our friends. We mixed it together to see what would happen. They loved it, but their little arms were sore from all the stirring!
Well, we didn't catch the leprechaun, but he did leave us a nugget of "gold" in our traps! Maybe we will catch him next year! In math, we sorted marshmallows in Lucky Charms cereal. Then, we counted them to complete addition and subtraction problems. My students had a blast!
The Kindergarten Class at Wingo Elementary participated in a Valentine Exchange with other classes around the United States. We wrote a letter about our school and surrounding community. Our students loved receiving the letters in the mail. Mrs. Debbie fixed a bulletin board with a map of the United States and pinned the letter we received on the map. Here is the finished product.
We finally got to have our Valentine's party today! My students were so excited!!!!
While the students we gone to lunch, I hid Hershey kisses around the room. Each kiss had a number on the bottom, and we place them on the correct number.
We are officially a 100 days smarter!!!!!
100th Day Fun!!! We put Fruit Loops on a 100 chart, and then we made necklaces with them. The students loved it. Some of the Fruit Loops didn't make it very long. Lol
Today, we paid tribute to our Veterans. Mrs. Debbie and I had a White Table set up when the kids got to school this morning. We watched a read a loud of The White Table and then discussed what each item symbolized. The students made hats and Thank You cards for some of our Veterans. We would like to thank everyone who has served our country!
Some of my amazing friends leveled up on Lexia! Way to go, Camron, LillyAnn, Maddy, and Laquetta!
Mr. Raylan McKinney leveled up in Lexia today! Way to go, Raylan!!!
Aden Crider leveled up on Lexia!!!
Today, we did a mock Presidential Election. The students learned some facts about each candidate and then voted for the candidate they wanted to be the next president. We had our very own voting booth and each student received a "voted" badge. The winner by majority of the vote was Donald Trump 15/3. On a funny note, the students nicknamed Joe Biden "Joey".
October Student Awards winners!!!! We are so proud of you!!! Laquetta's rocking Kindergarten and cheering on her friends when they do great!!! Raylan received the BRAVE award for his awesome behavior!
Mrs. Cindy and Mrs. Debbie's class carved a pumpkin today! We have finished up a week long lesson on pumpkins!
