Think before you share: Back to School Photos

Back to school photos often reveal personal information about your child. School name, grade, age, and identifying features, etc. - these can all be used by predators and scammers.

No matter your privacy setting or friends, it’s best to keep personal information to a minimum.

Have a fun and safe school year!

The Love of God and Family are two of life’s greatest blessings. It’s not the material things, but the memories you make that matter. We were blessed with the most amazing week in the Colorado Rockies.

…now back to the campaign trail!

Dear Voters of Lafayette County,

I am excited to announce that after much prayer and consideration, I am running for the office of Chancery Clerk of Lafayette County. The responsibilities of the Chancery Clerk are vast, and most everyone will have business in or through this office at some point in their lives. The Chancery Clerk acts as the county auditor and treasurer and assists the Board of Supervisors. The Chancery Clerk’s duties also include maintaining the integrity of all Chancery Court records in matters of estates, guardianships, conservatorships, marital changes, child custody, property disputes and other matters of equity. The Clerk is also the custodian of all land records. Having the right person with the right skillset, work ethic, and personality in this office is key to ensuring that these duties are met with accuracy and integrity.

I am a multigenerational, lifelong resident of Lafayette County and active member of Community Church Oxford. My husband, Jack, is also a lifelong resident of Lafayette County and a Captain with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department. We have been blessed with three wonderful children: Lane (14) attends Lafayette Middle School, and Greer (4) and Gentry (2) both attend Creative Learning Center at North Oxford Baptist Church.

I have 16 years of office and managerial experience and have learned that a successful leader must lead from the front. I have worked the last 11 years at Ross Family Dental Clinic in record keeping, billing, and insurance claims and performed many other administrative duties. I am also the local small business owner of Jumpin’ Jack’s Inflatables and Event Rentals, where I manage and oversee all day-to-day operations. Through church, teaching group fitness classes at the YMCA, and friendships made through Ross Family Dental Clinic and Jumpin’ Jack’s, I have created and maintained relationships with many citizens of Lafayette County. Because of the people in this community who have helped shape my life, I have great love and interest in the success of Lafayette County and the ones who call it home.

My career background and strong organizational management experience have provided me with the skills necessary to oversee the accuracy and accountability of the seat of Chancery Clerk. If elected, I will continue the success of Sherry Wall who has efficiently led this office for the last 19 years. I will bring integrity, a strong work ethic, and new ideas to improve any areas of need so that my service will make a positive impact on the growth and success of Lafayette County. It is for these reasons that I humbly and graciously ask for your support in electing me as your next Chancery Clerk.

With sincere appreciation,

Marsha Pierce Theobald
