Isn't it Great that the state of Illinois has done so much to lower our taxes during these uncertain economic times? This article is a great list to use when talking to friends and neighbors as they complain about taxes/ our governor/ Dems in general. If each of us could have a real conversation with 10 repub voters in the next 4 months, we could make an impact on the voting pattern of our neighborhood. This list is a great place to start!

Campaign Kickoff Fundraiser
A call for candidates went out, and Amin Karim answered the call. Thirty years of corporate experience building teams, dealing with budgets, finance, vendor management, supply chain management, and process improvements qualified him for the Treasurer's office. But running a campaign is very new to him. He did his homework, got coaching, and now he's ready to begin his run. He is looking for volunteers and looking for funding.
Two friends volunteered to host Amin Karim's Campaign Kickoff Fundraiser at Holzlager Brewing Company in Woodstock. Please join them in helping Amin get off to a good start.
A county-wide campaign requires a lot of funds for printing, postage, and advertising. Please support him at the highest level you can so that he makes it over the finish line!

Happy Earth Day to all my friends who still like to play in the dirt, helping our planet recover. May we all value our planet enough in these next months to make a difference. Our values show by the deeds we do. When my daughter Cassie was in the Peace Corps being a teacher near Johannesburg , she introduced her students to their first Earth Day in 2014. Bill Foster talks to voters in Marengo this week. He answered great questions about how the US is helping Ukraine with many weapons. The shoulder missiles have been very effective! We also discussed how voter fraud is not an issue, due to the decentralized precinct voter system, how federal investment in basic science should help us out of the climate crisis, and inflation should be a rather short term product of Putin's invasion and oil's availability tightening. It was an interesting discussion!
Most of McHenry County is now in IL 11, including Marengo. 55% of Bill Foster's newly drawn IL 11 district are new voters to him, so he is making a concerted effort to meet as many as possible before the June 28 primary, and then the November 8 general election. If you have any questions for him, please enter them into his website:

Hanging out with Bill Foster at Huntley Legion yesterday. He had good messages for strong business, climate control and safe ballots based on each precinct. Go Bill! So happy you will be our representative in Congress next year

Bill Foster :
I bring my perspective as a scientist and a businessman with me every day that I work in Congress. I also bring my perspective as a dad and a new grandfather. I know the work we do today is critical for the next generation of Americans.
It is embarrassing and unnecessary when the State Oversite committee and the Illinois Supreme Court has to get involved in our local elections. If we all get behind Mary Mahady to be our next County Clerk, we will be proud of her process, and know that every vote was counted.
