A 2nd grader and a 1st grader challenged each other to complete the outdoors obstacle course! Love to see them working together 🥇🥈🥉
Lots of family workouts going on!! A 6th grader, 4th grader, and 2nd grader are all challenging each other to see who can do the most sit-ups 👍🏼 I’m tired just from watching you guys!!
A 5th and 2nd grade brother and sister duo challenged each other to the hopping on one foot challenge! 🦵👫 Any word on the winner, Laurena Turner?
One of my third graders decided to complete ALL of the PE assignments for the week today, and this is how he feels 😅😴 Way to go!!!
One of my 1st graders and one of my 4th graders made up a new game called “Basketennis”... maybe they can teach it to us when we get back! 🏀🎾
One of my K students decided to work out just for fun while watching his TV shows!! Love the dedication, kiddo!! 👏🏼
One of my first graders has been staying active while we’re away by practicing his basketball skills!! Love to see that!! 🏀
One of my first graders ROCKED this daily mission of creating an obstacle course with at least three obstacles!! Very creative! 🥳
One of my recent daily missions was “Do a push-up for each letter in your full name”. Here is a video of one of my K students and one of my 1st grade students attempting it!!! In case you didn’t know, push-ups are HARD (for me as well as for my little kiddos) 😅💪🏼
Exercising together can make it much more fun!! Here is one of my 7th graders, one of my 5th graders, and one of my 1st graders working together to side slide around their house. Awesome job!! Also pictured: Nugget 🐶
Here is one of my 2nd grader’s interpretation of one of my daily missions: Create a karate air-kicking and air-punching demonstration to music! He rocked this!! 💪🏼
Do something positive for both your body and mind today! This looks different for everyone, and for me, it looks like going outside and playing with my dogs (even if they’re the ones running around instead of me). Does anyone else have any furry friends that have helped to keep you sane since we’ve been away from school!? 🐶🐱🐰🐴
This is for those of you with a hoop handy (or even a fake one -be creative). How many shots can you make in 1 minute? I got 6. Choose your own distance!
Not going to lie, this was about my 7th attempt and then I called it. My junior high boys would be rolling their eyes watching me shoot 🤦🏼♀️ In my defense, I was more of a defense girl 😂
(I’ll even post Ms. Schmidt 2.0’s in the comments -we were on the same team for two years and it was always clear that I was the defensive one and she was the offensive one😂)
Ms. Schmidt 2.0 (Mrs. Turner’s former student teacher and my little sister) helped me demonstrate this game. A basic game that I’ve played before with some of my grades at school is called Scarf Catch. Basically, you and a partner both toss a scarf into the air and try to run and catch your partner’s before it touches the ground. If you both catch it, you take a step back. Since we don’t have our juggling scarves at home, we are using a T-shirt that we don’t mind getting dirty and a dish towel (we tried tissues but they blew away with the wind).
How far back can you get? Just stay away from trees! 😂
Today we spent a lot of time outside making the most of the nice weather!! I used chalk to make a silly movement pathway in my driveway. 🤪
I challenge you to try making your own. Even if you don’t have chalk, you can use other things you find, like sticks, leaves, and rocks! How creative can you make your movement pathway!?!? Post a video of your creation, or send it to me! 😊😊
Hello Waverly community!! I’m going a little stir crazy not getting to see all of my kiddos every day, and I’m sure you’re going crazy being at home all day... so the goal of this page is to hopefully reach out to some of my students (and their families) to give them different ideas on how to stay moving during this strange time!! ALSO, if you would want to leave pictures or videos showing how your kids/families are staying active at home, please feel free! I would LOVE that! 😁
Please share with others that you think would enjoy this page!
