So I did a thing!!!! With so many encouraging words friends and family I wrote about the life of my son! Through all the pain and grief it helped me to share with the world through my eyes just how special my child was to me! Along with other mothers who deal with this same pain we were able to express all of our emotions in our chapters! Thank you Haraka Nikkole Carswell for believing in me! Brunch for Jacksonville mothers who have lost children to violence continues to grow The foundation hosting the brunch, Silent Women Speaking, is publishing a book with stories from 10 mothers, including Vanessa Lopez, who lost her son in 2021.

Update: Good morning to all who have supported and continue to support the Jalen L. Hunter Foundation. We will not be having our annual Pre Mother’s Day Brunch this year. I have taken this year off to focus on healing and family! That doesn’t mean we have forgotten about you! We love you and we continue to pray for your strength daily! 2025 we will come back stronger in Christ!💙 We look forward to continuing to serve the community! 2025’s event will be dedicated to family! It’s Ok to Grieve: Grief Support Meet up — Jalen L. Hunter Foundation The Jalen L. Hunter Foundation will be hosting our first grief support meeting for 15 individuals that are from Northwest Indiana and have lost loved ones to gun violence.

Happy Belated Birthday to our Son, Father, and Brother Jalen L. Hunter. Jalen would have been 27 years old today. Many supporters of Jalen celebrated his birthday over the weekend. On Saturday, April 30th, 2022, we celebrated Mother's Day with a brunch for mothers who have lost a child to gun violence. The event was a huge success! All the mothers of the Northwest Region of Indiana got to meet our founder, other neighboring foundations, to other mothers that share the same pain of losing a child to senseless gun violence. The mothers told us we need to make this an annual event, so look out everyone! JLHF just might have to make that happen. 💙
