HashiGirls™, this ONE supplement could save you from some of your worst winter Hashi’s symptoms!

Zinc can be your secret weapon for immunity! It acts as an antioxidant, fighting off viruses and inflammation.

And did you know Zinc can also help with another pesky Hashi’s symptom: ACNE!

I actually began taking zinc for my skin not for the immunity benefits and within the first 30 days I could already see a difference.

25-50mg a day worked for me!

I’ll link my favorite brand in the comments!

The time passes whether you're healing or not.

Are you going to let your symptoms keep stacking on top of each other?
Are you going to let the scale keep going up while your hair keeps falling out?
Are you going to watch your partner miss you because you don't know when the last time you felt attractive was?
Are you going to keep telling yourself you'll start next week? Next month? After school is out?

You are not the symptoms you wear or carry or experience—yet.

Because if you don't take the steps you need to now—you will be. Your symptoms will bleed over into your life so much that to the people around you, they'll seem like personality traits.

Take back your body, your personality—your LIFE.

The time passes no matter what...will you be getting better or getting worse?

I used to get really nervous about sharing my story and showing my “before” picture.

But “before” is just an opportunity and there’s so much we CAN control about what comes “after”.

I would love for you to share the next part of your journey with me.

We start next week. Give me a 🙋‍♀️ in the comments and I’ll tell you all about it.

Most of my HashiGirls™ are type A or A-ish. Me too.

I’m not here to take that from you. I love being a high achiever. I take pride in it, but over the years I’ve learned that I can’t “DO IT ALL” and I really can’t do it all ALONE.

It’s okay to need help. It’s okay to want a community and a group of people who understand. And that’s what we do.

My 16 week program starts this month. Let us support you. You do so much good, HashiGirl. You deserve to feel good, too.

Bone broth is a great source of collagen which helps support joint health, and is full of amino acids that can assist in digestion.

Collagen also supports healthy hair growth and lowers inflammation. Two things that are super important for us HashiGirls™!

Add this broth to any soup or drink by itself with a pinch of sea salt. This is perfect for colder weather!

Do you make your own bone broth? Or have a favorite brand to buy?

❤️ Leigh

Eating a high fiber diet is SO important for us HashiGirls™!

Why? Constipation! It is a common Hashimoto’s symptom.

Simply increasing dietary fiber can help you become more regular! 🥕

And for my Estrogen Dominant friends–did you know that fiber can help you clear excess estrogen from the body? 🤗

In 2 weeks my HashiGirls™ feel a difference.
In 4 weeks they see one in the mirror.
And in 8 weeks–their family and friends notice, too.

Are you going to let your symptoms keep stacking on top of each other?
Are you going to let the scale keep going up while your hair keeps falling out?
Are you going to watch your partner miss you because you don't know when the last time you felt attractive was?

Hypothyroidism is a condition that indicates your thyroid is producing inadequate amounts of thyroid hormone—so not enough. Hyperthyroidism means your thyroid is producing too much thyroid hormone.

Where this gets confusing is that when your immune system begins to attack your thyroid, your body can jump between the two conditions. Because your thyroid is injured, it does not produce enough thyroid hormone. But as your thyroid is being injured and the cells are destroyed, the existing thyroid hormone floods the system.

You can be hypothyroid without Hashi's, but if it goes untreated—Hashi's ultimately leads to hypothyroidism (but there can be instances of hyperthyroidism along the way).

Hypothyroidism is a condition, but also a symptom of Hashimoto's. This is why treating Hashi's as the autoimmune disease works so well for my HashiGirls. We're treating and stopping the progression of the CAUSE (Hashi's) of the ultimate condition (hypothyroidism).

If your doctor hasn't talked to you about the steps outside of medication you could be taking to help heal your Hashi's, then you're not getting the whole story.
I'm not telling you not to take meds (I take mine everyday), I'm asking you to not be afraid to look beyond treatment of a symptom and into stopping the progression of your disease.

Better Together!

❤️ Leigh

From the outside looking in people can't see the whole story.

You need to find a group of women who get it. You need to find a support system who knows.

You're not meant to suffer and you're not meant to do this alone.

We can help.

To lose the weight and stop the hair from falling out.
To revive your relationships. To recognize the girl in the mirror again and to stop being so, so tired.

We can help.

It's time to be a HashiGirl™ ❤️

Soooooo, now that Halloween is OVER, what are you doing with all that candy? 🍬🍬🍬

You can go a few different ways, but I like to get it out of the house as quickly as possible. You can donate it, share it, or throw it away.

This isn’t because we can’t control ourselves or because we consider any foods “bad or good”—it’s because this strategy works for keeping us on track as HashiGirls™.

We don’t need the dyes. We don’t need the preservatives. We don’t need the weird holiday candy gluten additions, and we don’t need the seed (soybean) oils.

Make you a little sad to kick all the candy to the curb? ❌🍬 Don’t want your kids to mutiny? Here are some swaps we like to use! These can be “better” candy choices to keep around the house.

I’d love to know what you do with all the left-over candy in your house! And no judgment here. Doing what works best for you and your family is what we’re ALL ABOUT. 💪🙋‍♀️🤗

We’ve been talking about the 3 most common reasons my HashiGirls™ have said they failed at AIP or other restrictive diets. Today let’s finish up with a quick talk about wiggle-room.

❌No support
❌No long-term plan
❌No wiggle-room

Saying no “wiggle-room” or if you’re remotely southern, we say “giving some grace” is something really important!

We should all be able to give ourselves some grace when we screw up, but at the same time, you can’t give yourself so much grace that you’re a frequent flyer at the local all-you-can-eat buffet while you’re on an elimination.

Wiggle-room is an especially fine line when it comes to elimination diets. If you do accidentally have something with gluten (gluten likes to hide in lots of different condiments and dressings), that doesn’t mean you have to ransack your local bakery and completely give up. You need to have a plan for finding your way back and not tossing all your progress (and data!) out the window.

You also have to plan for the days when you’re really going to want a cookie or have a big celebration coming up. This is something we talk about and plan for in my 16-week program. We like to talk about how to prepare ahead of time for those events and make sure you have something equally as delicious as an alternative. We don’t want you to miss out on special moments! And we focus on making sure there’s no FOMO happening anywhere.

We also know that starting an elimination diet going into the Holidays might be its own circle of Hell. So WE DONT DO THAT! LOL! In our next program starting in November, we timed our elimination to take place after the Holidays when you’ll be ready for a fresh start.

Otherwise, we know from experience you’d be “wiggle-rooming” your way ALL through the Holidays!

So that’s it! There’s the 3 reasons I hear the most from my HashiGirls™ why they can’t do an elimination and how we can help them kick those reasons to the curb.

You’re not supposed to do this healing journey alone, HashiGirls™. You need a team around you cheering you on, supporting you, and guiding you. And that’s EXACTLY what we do.

We start in November, and we’d love to have you join us.

Give me a 👋 in the comments, or send me a DM, and I’ll send you some info.

YOU HATED AIP (Or something similar)…

We talked about the 3 most common reasons my HashiGirls™ have said they failed at AIP or other restrictive diets in a previous post with a focus on a lack of support. So today let’s talk about what it means to have no long-term plan.

❌No support
❌No long-term plan
❌No wiggle-room

When I say no long-term plan, I mean that you may be amazing at doing the “right” things for a week or a month or maybe even two, but eventually, when the “challenge” or “plan” or “program” runs out you’re just left with you and your real life.

And it can be hard to take that “challenge” mentality into REAL LIFE.

In fact, I’m going to say you can’t.

We are not meant to run at a high challenge intensity for too long. It’s stressful, and it may start as “good stress,” but chronic stress is never a good thing.

What we do differently in my 16-week program is we’re planning for the end of the elimination from the beginning. We know what the goal is. We are centered around finding the foods that contribute to your symptoms and taking that information into the rest of your life to help you feel, look, and get better.

You are NEVER going to feel like it’s a good time to go on an elimination diet. The trick is to ease into this as a temporary lifestyle and understand that once we get the information we need we can adjust as needed and carry over tailored changes into our REAL lives. We have to quit living “SICK” because we don't have the time or a plan on how to live WELL.

We start in November, and it’s time you started living WELL.

Give me a 👋 in the comments, or send me a DM, and I’ll send you some info.

We’re Better Together, HashiGirls™!

Need an EASY WEEKNIGHT DINNER?! 🙋‍♀️

This Tortilla Soup is perfect for cooler weather! It’s hearty, easy, and comes together in one pot.

HashiGirl™ Tortilla Soup:

•On med-high heat, heat oil

•Throw in fresh veggies (squash, zucchini, carrots, onion)

•Sauté until they start to get tender and brown on the edges.

•Next, debone the rotisserie chicken. Chop all the chicken up and throw it in. (I let Levi do this part. He’s better at getting all the meat off the bone).

•Throw in hominy, both cans of fire-roasted tomatoes, and bone broth

•Add seasoning to taste. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder and cumin. I keep tasting it while it cooks and adjust the spices as needed. Almost always more chili powder and cumin 😬

Bring to a boil, then lower to a simmer. May need to add some water if it isn’t soupy enough. It will need to simmer for at least 30 minutes. The longer, the better the flavors marry. Just watch the liquid level and add more water or bone broth as needed.

Once ready to eat, add to your bowl and garnish with cilantro, a dollop of sour cream, a little cheese, avocado, and a few Siete Maiz lime chips! Obviously, adjust garnishes to your liking. Less is more, in my opinion.

Enjoy!

💪PROTIP: Trying to up your protein? Have a house full of football-playing/coaching boys?

Buy an extra rotisserie chicken to serve on the side.

Never mind the old chunky soup commercials. Do y’all remember those?! 🤣

Soup isn’t enough for football players. That’s FAKE NEWS.

25/10/2023

STOP! Don't throw out your Starbucks, yet! Most women with Hashimoto’s fail at AIP or other restrictive diets for 3 reasons (and they're not what you think):

❌No support
❌No long-term plan
❌No wiggle-room

We’ll talk about all three this week, but first, let’s talk about SUPPORT.

When taking on something restrictive like an elimination diet to determine what your sensitivities and/or allergies are, it is so important to have a support system in place. A few good friends you share your goal with who you know will encourage you. A plan for sharing your reasons with your family or spouse who may be impacted. No one likes to wake to the surprise that the house is now egg, gluten, soy, nut, and Cheeto-free. And someone to turn to when it gets hard and you need some options or even just a gentle reminder of why you’re doing this in the first place.

From top to bottom, our 16-week program handles that.

You’ll step into a group of women who are excited about making changes that they know will make them feel, look, and get better. You’ll share your tips, and experiences and learn from our coaches and each other.

You prep for each new habit as it comes. With no overwhelm, no surprises, and restrictive all-or-nothing approaches.

Instead of only focusing only on diet and what we CAN’T have, we work on habits and small changes that help you see results quicker to stay motivated and encouraged. We’re not a weight-loss plan, but in 9 out of 10 HashiGirls™ with rapid weight gain as a symptom—it just works out that way.

If you’ve been looking for something to stick to and a crew to hang with…

We start in November, and I’d love to tell you all about it.

Give me a 👋 in the comments, or send me a DM. Stop trying to do this the hard way. And stop trying to do it alone.

We’re Better Together, HashiGirls™!

Photos from Thriving Through Hashimoto's post 25/10/2023

Of course, you do. Because going gluten-free probably wasn’t that easy. You skipped some treats, and that wasn’t terrible, but maybe you also had to walk past what was in your pantry because the whole family didn’t (want or need to) join you. Maybe you missed out on some office donuts or a few birthday cakes, but you did a full 90 days gluten-free and—nada. Zip. No difference that you could see or feel.

That sucks. We’ve been there. Sometimes, there isn’t a “quick” or “easy” fix, and usually, those fixes aren’t all that quick and easy after all.

What most doctors and healthcare professionals fail to tell you is that by the time you’re noticing Hashi’s symptoms—you have LOTS.

And they’re compounding!

You don’t just have brain fog; you also can’t sleep, and your itchy skin is making all of that worse.

You’re not just feeling mood swings; your partner is also frustrated at your lack of libido, and trying to muster up enough energy to just take a walk actually hurts.

Going GF might help knock down some bloating, but if it doesn’t also fix your hair loss, weight gain, and overwhelming exhaustion—are you really going to keep skipping the cookie?

In my 16-week program, we help you baby-step your way into a routine you can live with. One that gives you noticeable results that you can feel AND see.

You know what feels better than grinding through 365 days of a “quick fix”?

Learning what works for you and gives you all the little wins and support you need to keep going along the way.

That’s being a HashiGirl™ and it’s time you got started.

Want more information about why we’re so confident that what we do will work for you? Give me a ❤️ in the comments and I’ll send you a message. Or just shoot me a DM.

We’re Better Together.

HashiGirls™, as the colder months approach I want my house to smell like fall–warm and cozy!

I have slowly moved toward switching out products that were actively hurting me to products that are cleaner, more organic, more natural, non-hormone disrupting, and just overall not so icky and full of junk. One of those products is the scents I choose to use in my home.

I want my home to smell good without the harmful parabens and toxins that come with burning candles.

Some safer options that I love are using the Pura or a diffuser with my favorite essential oil blends!

I LOVE the Pura because it is more potent like a candle and you can buy many of the name brand scents that you find in candles. My favorite Pura scent for fall is the pumpkin dulce!

I love using a diffuser as well. I use doTERRA essential oils- there are so many good fall blends that you can find on Pinterest but I’m loving the pumpkin spice blend!
3 drops Clove
2 drops Cassia
1 drop Ginger
1 drop Cardamom
1 drop Tangerine

I’ll link the Pura in the comments!

Do you have any favorite HashiGirl™ friendly scents?

HA! Who just LOVES being called "middle-aged"? LOL! 🙅‍♀️

But it's true. My 16-week program works for women of all ages, but most of us do fall along that "middle-age" line.

We've worked with college and high school girls struggling with joint pain, low energy, moonface, and bad skin.

We've had 20-somethings just starting out and struggling with hair loss and fertility.

Stressed-out 30-year-olds juggling families, work, responsibilities, and because that’s not already hard, brain fog and loss of libido. The “middle-aged” husbands really love that 🙄

Successful 40 and 50-year-old women who are kicking butt in all other aspects of their lives, but can’t get a handle on sudden weight gain and bone-numbing fatigue.

And we love all our 60+ HashiGirls™! The ones who have like holding (and sometimes hiking) with their grandbabies pain-free. The ones who love to bake and have figured out they need to make some swaps to keep feeling their best.

Sure, many HashiGirls are diagnosed at “middle-age” but it hasn’t seemed to matter much at all in our community. At any age—we’re still BETTER TOGETHER.

We’re here if you need us HashiGirls™. My DMs are open.

20/10/2023

Looking forward (literally😜) to this holiday season!

I know it can be tough for many HashiGirls™ because we have a tendency to put everyone else and their experiences first. And that's kind of just who we are.

And you don’t really have to change TBH! As a wife and a mom, I know that, for me, I am grateful to be able to do things for my husband and boys. It makes me feel good. I truly enjoy it.

But I also know that I need to take time for myself so that I can be that full-steam-ahead girl 90% of the time!

So let’s go into this holiday season of busyness knowing that we can’t do it all, but we can keep doing A LOT—as long as we take the time to care for ourselves and curate an environment that will keep stress low and leave the flares to the fireworks!

You don’t have to do this season or any season alone!

We’re here if you need us HashiGirls™. My DMs are open.

19/10/2023

Being a mom is part of who I am. I know so many women (and HashiGirls™) who feel the same way.

Hashimoto's doesn't just affect the person with the diagnosis. It affects the people who love them. And sometimes even the people we're trying to bring into this world.

I cannot guarantee that we can help you get pregnant. There are so many variables involved. But I can tell you that with the right balance of lifestyle changes, supplements, possibly medications, and personalized knowledge of what your body needs—we can support you as you get closer. We know you're trying, and we know you're doing everything you can.

And here's a gentle reminder that we see you, mama. Not all of our babies get to stay here on Earth with us. There are some we'll only get to hold in Heaven, but that doesn't change the fact that they are ours, and we are theirs. ❤️

18/10/2023

It’s time for a little tough love today, HashiGirls™. My team and I are starting to take calls for the last round of our 16-week program for 2023.

I’m so proud of the women who have already reached out, knowing that they’re ready to try something different.

We have Hashimoto’s. Most of us know what we’re supposed to be doing…

❌We’re supposed to be avoiding foods that cause our bodies that puffy, painful, inflammation.
❌We’re supposed to be healing our guts to lower our antibodies and tame “the bloat”.
❌We’re supposed to be setting boundaries, so we can get the sleep and rest and we need to heal, recharge, and get back to being who we want to be!

SO, WHY AREN’T WE DOING IT?!😅

Because it’s hard, because it’s lonely, and because you don’t want to fail at it (possibly again).

But what if it wasn’t?

✅What if we took baby steps through the process and you could still see HUGE RESULTS?
✅What if instead of doing it alone as a FOMO queen, you did it with a group of women who were positive, motivated, fun, and also looking for community?
✅What if we told you that we can guarantee that if you show up for yourself and for your community, that if you do the work with us—you won’t fail? WE GUARANTEE IT.

What you’re doing now isn’t working, and it certainly won’t work in the stress and hurry of the months to come. We want your holidays to be merry and bright, not scary and puffy. 🤷‍♀️

But we have to talk about it.

Consider the interview call a fact-finding mission where you decide if you like us, and our program, or not.

On our end, it’s a call to make sure you’ll fit in well with our current group of girls, and that you’re ready for the changes and transformation that our program brings.

There’s no hard sell.
There are no gimmicks.

We just want you to feel better.

And we know you want that, too. ❤️

Need info? Let’s set up a call. Give me a 👋 in the comments or shoot me a DM and I’ll send you a message with more info.

The something nice you do for yourself this holiday season should last a lifetime. Just sayin’.

18/10/2023

I mean. If we're not going to scope out other people's food while we wait for ours, why did we even come?

17/10/2023

HashiGirls™, how many of you are getting less than 8hrs of sleep at night?

Sleep goes hand-in-hand with cortisol, your adrenals, blood sugar, and weight maintenance, so missing out on a good night's sleep can make you feel extremely fatigued. 🥱

A few ways to jump-start getting better sleep are setting a bedtime, stop scrolling at least an hour before bed, and adjusting the thermostat down.

P.S. Magnesium is a great supplement for helping you get better sleep, and we both know you need it, HashiGirl™! ❤️
