120 CARE PACKAGES! 🥳

This spring, the Alpha Omicron Alumnae Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated set out to help collect donations and supplies in order to support a local organization who helps Arizonans in need. Catalytic Health Partners, based in Arizona, help to provide care and advocacy for Arizonans who have a serious medical diagnosis (cancer, unmanaged diabetes, cirrosis, heart failure, kidney failure and others) and are low-income, no-income, often unhoused, living in shelters or at-risk of becoming unhoused. In order to support their work, they collect donations of basic hygiene supplies to ensure they can provide some relief and support to the people they help everyday.

As a chapter, we came together with our community and we helped to provide 120 care packages full of hygiene supplies and were able to donate 100+ other miscellaneous hygiene items that will be put to use by the organization. These supplies were distributed across 3 DIFFERENT COUNTIES in Arizona: Yavapai, Pima & Maricopa!

We’d like to give a shoutout to every individual and organization who supported this service project! And we’d also like to give a shout out and our immense gratitude to our sister Yuliana who took the lead in coordinating this effort, collected all the donations at her home and distributed them to CHP! ❤️

Last month she passed her master’s examination and is now officially a Licensed Master of Social Work! Eva, we couldn’t be more proud of your strength and determination these past few years to reach this point. You are a beacon of hope and fortitude in your community and we are so proud of you! Hey Arizona!

Primary Election Day in Arizona is July 30th and mail in ballots need to be mailed back by July 23rd!

Here are some tips on being vote-ready for this primary:

1. Collect info! Get to know your candidates and their platforms. It’s important to determine how they will represent your interests as a constituent should they be elected.

2. Make a shortlist! Elected officials are working to represent their constituents so it’s important that they earn our votes. Make a list and check it twice!

3. Head to the polls! Make sure you head to the correct polling place on July 30th (or before if you’re voting early) OR ensure your vote by mail ballot is returned in the mail by July 23rd!

Hi! We’re the Alpha Omicron Alumnae Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated - the FIRST and LARGEST latina sorority in the nation. Established in 1975 at Kean University in Union, New Jersey - our sisterhood was the first of its kind, paving the way for multicultural and latina students who did not have a space in academia or greek life at the time. Established as an academic sorority, our mission was to help our members expand their horizons academically and provide support throughout their time in higher education and beyond! Whether you’re a recent college graduate, a busy entrepreneur or a working parent, our sisterhood is here to support our members through every stage of life.

The Alpha Omicron Alumnae Chapter provides the opportunity for members of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated living in the Phoenix or Tucson metro areas, and everywhere in between, the opportunity to be active as alumnae with the sorority and continue to live out our lifelong commitment of “sisterhood for life”! Active members of Alpha Omicron Alumnae Chapter have the opportunity to give back to LTA, mentor younger members and undergraduates, serve in volunteer leadership roles at all levels of the sorority, give back to our communities through philanthropy as well as social and political activism and the most important - the opportunity to come together as a network of women supporting one another through SISTERHOOD!

Something unique about Lambda Theta Alpha is that we accept applications for membership at the undergraduate AND alumna level. If you are interested and meet the following criteria, we would love to talk to you about why membership with Lambda Theta Alpha might be for you!

We’re taking a moment to highlight our Chapter Treasurer, Ashlee Parra “I” who was recently promoted!

Ashlee has been with Southern New Hampshire University as an Academic Advisor for 2 years and is now an adjunct faculty member who will be teaching Cultural Awareness courses to online students! Ashlee holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education and is excited to be paving the way for Latina representation in higher education at her institution!

When asked about her career in higher education she said, “I love my SNHU and supporting students as they navigate their higher education journey and I feel blessed to be supporting students both as their advisor and now their instructor!”

We want to wish Maria Mcalister a very happy 8th Lambdaversary! You ushered in the era of new Alumnae Sisters in Arizona in 2016 as AO Line 1 and have been the EPITOME of a Lambda Lady since then! We love you! ❤️

Our Chapter President was invited to speak to students at NFL YET College Preparatory Academy in Phoenix, Arizona about all things college today! She was able to talk to the graduating seniors (who graduate in 2 weeks!) about tips & tricks for excelling academically in college, how to navigate the transition from high school to college, lessons learned from college failures and successes and how to find communities of support on campus. 🎓📚

Our sister Amanda (AO SP18) .conrad_radzonian and her daughter traveled from Arizona all the way to New York to get a glimpse of the solar eclipse and experience totality! It was both a family adventure and an educational opportunity. What a way to kick off the week! 🌙 ✨
