W e l l friends, sad to say Brad will be leaving the band as he pursues his new job and graduate studies in Psychology. He has contributed so much to Gaya's Earth & Spirit Band including heavenly vocals, rhythm and lead guitar, and flute riffs. So I am now looking for someone to fill those lovely shoes, ideally a guitarist/bass player and vocalist who can match my alto voice either in the same octave or lower. Ideally this divine musician will live within an easy drive from Placerville to make rehearsal accessible. If you are that someone, or may know of that someone, message me!

Save the date: Gaya's Earth & Spirit Band will offer a new year's kirtan during the Yoga & Sacred Sound Workshop at Leap Yoga in Folsom: Jan 22, 4-7pm. We hope you can join us for a a deeper dive: movement to sweeten the body, and sounds and singing to sweeten the mind! We will be joined that day by Sonic Alchemy leading a luxurious Soundbath during savasana!

AFTER SHELTERING IN, LET'S BRING OUR HEARTS TOGETHER IN SONG....I'd like to introduce the amazing members of my new kirtan band, Gaya's Earth & Spirit Band. Both the guys are incredible musicians and I feel blessed to bring you kirtan with their steadiness and grace.
Brad Steiger, shown here with his guitar, is an amazing vocalist who by day is a music therapist, singing to hospice patients and helping people with memory loss through musical communication. He also brings lovely flute stylings to our sound.
Sahar Eric Pinkham, shown here with the tablas, is our rhythmicist. He keeps us steady with beautiful, melodic tabla phrases and adds a beautiful baritone voice to our chants. By day he is a therapist, wilderness guide and drumming teacher.
If you are just getting to know me, Gaya Shelton-Ostadi, I am a yoga therapist and, at the moment, I have completely surrendered myself to kirtan. I bring my voice and the harmonium into our mix and set the direction of the band.
We have two kirtans planned for this summer so far:

June 28 at the Rohnert Park Community Center as part of a larger yoga workshop I am offering there.

July 12 at Leap Yoga in Folsom, 1:30pm.

I know we are all sheltering into our own hearts right now and reaching across the ether-sphere to connect with others. I hope you are well and well-seated within yourself! I am imagining that after we have super-charged our hearts in the sheltering at home, it will be amazing to come together in person and in touch and in shared song. We of Gaya's Earth & Spirit Band look forward soon to chanting and healing with you in person at a kirtan.
