Kindergarten registration updates!
We know there are lots of new kindergarten friends ready to start school and we can’t wait to see all of our new friends Monday July 27th! Here is a list of important items that you will need to bring to registration: Student social security card, birth certificate, and blue immunization form. You will also need a parent/guardian driver’s license, 2 proofs of residency(2 bills that are attached to the address listed on your registration form) and any custodial paperwork that will need to be kept on file.
This is a very special day for new kindergarteners and we are hoping it will be a great day for everyone. Given the current circumstances we can unfortunately only allow one parent/guardian to accompany your child to during registration.
Here is the second grade supply list!
Hello everyone,
I hope you are having a great summer and are staying well! We are currently developing our plan to return to school on August 11, 2020. This plan is being developed based on guidance that was released last week by The Alabama State Department of Education. The Roadmap to Reopening Schools gives each local school system general guidance and assistance in crafting specific plans that are tailored for each local school system. We are using the ALSDE guidance to build the framework of our plan that is specific to the Etowah County Schools. The guidance provided by the ALSDE and our Etowah County plan are both living documents that will be revised and updated throughout the school year.
A very challenging school year lies ahead for us and we want to assure you that we will do everything possible and practical to provide a sound education for our students while also having a safe school environment. The academic, emotional, and safety of our students will be our focus.
Our preliminary Etowah County Reopening overview will be released by Wednesday, July 8, 2020. This will only be our initial guidance and our complete plan will be released shortly thereafter. We will be releasing this via our social media platforms and our website.
I want to thank everyone for your patience during this very difficult and uncertain time. Your support for your local schools and the Etowah County Schools is greatly appreciated. I hope that you have a happy and safe 4th of July!
Sincerely,
Alan Cosby
Superintendent
