This week has been admittedly a rough one. I have had my progressive and human-centered values weaponized. I had to dig deep to stay hopeful and today is truly so much better. This morning, I opened my inbox to see that Jejune Magazine has named me as their FAVORITE PROGRESSIVE CANDIDATE of 2024!
Thank you to my incredible community for believing in me and supporting me and thank you Jejune for the reminder that even when it feels like the haters are winning, standing in your truth and leading with love is always the right strategy.

It felt awesome to reflect on my journey to this point and in this special space.
It was beautiful. Thank you to everyone who was there and has supported my journey this far. I appreciate you so much π

I want to take a moment to express gratitude for my friend, and fellow Democratic candidate for the 29th Legislative District position 2, Sharlett Menaπ
Even just a year ago, the idea of running for office wasn't something that was on my bucket list. But my good friend Sharlett planted the seed when the position opened, encouraged me to go after it, reminded me of the support I had, was there when I was appointed into the position by city council, and has been here with me along this journey that is my first election cycle.
For those that may or may not know, in 2020, Sharlett campaigned and ran an amazing race against long-time incumbent. As a result, he decided to not run again and backed her instead.π
While we can joke about it now, that race was incredibly close, and she only needed 83 votes to secure a victory. I say this to highlight the importance of knowing that every vote counts, and that your votes do matter.
On Tuesday we were able to celebrate both of us moving forward to the General elections on November 4, and I couldn't be happier.π€
I am honored to have Sharlett's friendship, and appreciate that she paved the way, showed me what running a campaign looks like and has been by my side every step of the way. Now we are on our way to represent the city of Tacoma together.
If you live on the Eastside or anywhere in the 29th, vote Sharlett Mena, State Representative Pos. 2
There's no manual for "How to Run a Campaign While Pregnant", but if there was, it would be dedicated to "surrounding yourself with people that care about you".
Last night, we got the Primary election results, and my heart is absolutely full of joy, love, and appreciation for receiving 70.9% coming out of the primary in my bid to be elected Senator for the 27th district.
I am incredibly thankful to every person and organization that has supported this campaign in any and every way; my family and friends and those that reached out wanting me to run when the position became available, those that have knocked on doors, passed out campaign literature, put up yard signs, and especially to those who showed up to vote.
I could not have done this without you and there's no words to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you but Thank You. ππ₯²
Lastly, I would like to thank my team, Mai'lani Marquez, my campaign manager, Jessica Gavre, my consultant, and Paul Charbonneau, my fundraising manager, not only for putting in the work to get this campaign running, but for also allowing me to spend time with my baby girl and keep the momentum of the campaign strong.
Teamwork, truly does make the dream work πποΈπ
As we approach the Primary elections, I wanted to take a moment to thank some of the organizations that have been supporting this campaign
