New Mode, New Challenge

It has been a month already since the new academic year has started. As unusual as the new method of education as it seems, education is still upheld and uncompromised. However, the change has a toll on all students and teachers given that everything is different than what it used to.

With the mental burden brought by the pandemic and the exhaustion caused by piles of piles of workloads, it is okay to at least step back for a while and breath. Relax for a minute. Reward yourself for every little winning. Laugh for quite some time. Watch that anime or K-Drama. It would be a great deal if you take a break, especially for your sanity.

Breathe, pause, and go on again.

It is with great gratitude and accolade that we, The GreenLantern , is giving to our passionate and dedicated teachers. Truly, without your guidance our path will be somewhat misty. EMEMHS joins the opening of Classes of the school year 2020-2021, October 5, 2020

Today marks the start of the new school year 2020-2021 for all public schools in the country. This year ,2020 has been a difficult year for everyone. Facing the challenges given by the COVID 19 Pandemic and adjusting ourselves to be used to the new normal are some of those.

The school teachers, faculty, and staff of EMEMHS have prepared to give the students the quality and holistic type of education that they deserve despite the ongoing pandemic.

Classes unlike the previous years, where face to face basis is used for learning, given with the existence of the ongoing pandemic, alternative learning strategies will be observed. This includes online learning, modular learning, television, and radio broadcast.

From printing, compiling, and delivery of the instructional materials and activities sheets for modular learning, these are seen through by the teachers to secure that it could be delivered to the students' homes while following the health safety guidelines.

Under the safety protocols, parents are required to get the modules of their children to respected venues or areas. They are also advised to wear proper protection as per required by the Department of Health such as masks and face shields and strictly follow social distancing.

The Day For Heroes

Today, this August 31, 2020, is our "National Heroes' Day" that commemorates the bravery of the Filipinos who served the country. The term "Hero," today, is a broad term that gives limelight from Filipinos on the era of Spanish colonialism up to working citizens of the country both from the vicinity and beyond waters. This day signifies and gives recognition to people that made a mark in our country, most especially our frontliners who put their other foot to the grave just to ease the pandemic.

Essentially, this is the only day where we can give gratitude and recognize their selfless deeds and sacrifices to the people and our country. Our big "KUDOS" to the people in the healthcare department – specifically the nurses, medical technologists, doctors, radiologic technologists, medical scientists; the rule enforcers – policemen, guards, and armies.

When heroes have fallen, there shall be always the ones who will continue their legacy. Our time is completely different from the past. We may not use bolo to fight for our country, or even shed blood, the power still to influence is powerful by a simple click with the help of modern technology. This goes on forever, the revolution that is. Our current heroes and future heroes, thank you and you shall live forever!

Senior high school plays a vital role in each student as it considered to be one of the many steps towards professionalism. This guide determined students to pursue their future careers and still confused one's time to think of what they wanted to be in the upcoming years. Primarily, the EMEMHS K-12 is composed of different strands mainly: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences), TVL-ICT (Technological Vocational Livelihood- Information and Communications Technology), and TVL-SMAW (Technological Vocational Livelihood- Shielded Metal Arc Welding).

By that, we acquire confessions and insights of upcoming grade-12 students about their experiences on specific strands as well as the reasons why they considered choosing it. This signifies that each strand has its own unique ways where students can be molded accordingly and help them grow both as a student and person.

This is a mentality that runs deep into the system especially among adults: Your revealing clothes makes you prone to s*xual harassment. A recent controversy sparked varied opinions ranging from people voicing out how such mindset is not the reason for s*xual harassment or r**e, instead it’s because of the offender.

Our editorial “This is NOT OUR consent,” disagrees with such mindset and thus we have decided to make an editorial regarding about it.
