I've been getting questions on the gas shortages in the south and how it's effecting trucking. I have not seen any issue at the truck stops. I have heard some truck stops are limiting fuel to 60 gallons per visit. This may be true but I was just in Florida and filled up with 140 gallon. I will keep you posted if I see anything but as of now, we are running freight with no issues. We still live in the greatest country on earth.
Are any of my page followers near Lexington, NC? I have an extra 15 cases of Honey ham. The receiver ordered 15 cases and the shipper sent 30. I tried the food shelf, but they are all closed. I have to empty my trailer for a new load.
Fuel prices are definitely causing some issues for us truckers. I just got word from dispatch that we turned down over 10,000 loads last week. We also will be increasing our freight cost and fuel surcharges.
This will hit prices on the shelves in about 4 weeks. I am not sure how long this will last.
We still live in the greatest nation on earth and we will get through this.

It's been long icy winter and my truck called it quits. I did get it fixed. Just the tow was over 2000.00.
We still live in the best country on earth and even our worst times are better than many other countries.
I decided to take a vacation with my family in the Florida Keys.
I do know now all the sacrifices our truck drivers make.
It's been so busy!!!
This had to be one of the largest truck stops in the USA. It's in Missouri.
Many truckers are not going to cities that defund the police. Please stock up on supplies, if you live in these cities because shortages are coming.
‘Enter At Your Own Risk!’: Texas Police Group Puts Up Billboards Warning Those Entering Austin That City Defunded Police People entering Austin, Texas from Interstate 35 will see two billboards warning them that the city defunded police. One billboard says, “Warning! Austin defunded police. Enter at your own risk!” CBS News reported. The board is referring to the Austin city council’s vote last month to cut ...
I'm so thankful for all our railroads. They support and make trucking possible. Many times I pick up directly at yards that are filled by railroad freight.

News from the front of the supply line.
Start stocking up essentials
It is as busy as it can possibly be in the trucking business. I get my next proposed loads before I even deliver my current loads. Meat, produce, even Hershey candy loads.
What you need to know is there seems to be a preplan happening for food shortages. Warehouses are over-ordering and overstocking up. Some shippers are so over-ordering that I wait as much as 18 hours to get unloaded. The docks are just so backed up.
I have asked many different shippers and receivers and it seems they expect a huge surge just before and after the election. So start stocking up if you can, because it's looks like a shortage may be coming in late November thru the beginning of next year.
This is just a guess from what I am personally seeing and hearing.
We still live in the greatest nation on earth and the USA will make it through. We have done it before and we can do it again!
This was at a truck stop in South Carolina. Kids are so awesome.
Good news from the front supply lines!
Meat, meat and more meat. Our nation's meat suppliers are doing much better. I continue to haul 35 to 40 thousand pounds of meat coast to coast. It looks like things are getting back to normal as the yards are full of outgoing trucks. One supplier took 9 hours to get me loaded due to the amount of trucks that were ahead of me. I lost count at around 200 trucks.
Even with all that is going on, we still live in the greatest nation on earth.
News from the front of the supply line.
Meat is starting to look grim overall as producers are not able to fill orders.
It should get pretty rough in about a month and then bounce back. This is according to the suppliers.
If possible try to buy direct from the farmers and get it processed locally.
I know that this is not the best news but I just want you to know what I am seeing.
We have headed to New York from the West coast again and I will keep. everyone informed as to what I see.
Here is a dashcam video from today.
Good news from the front of the supply line.
In two months we transported 1,050,000 pounds of supplies and drove 45,140 miles from coast to coast.
With winter storms, icy roads, tornados, and now hot weather, the supply chain remains strong. We are just one of thousands of teams and tens of thousands of solo drivers.
Our nation is weathering this storm and soon it will pass as well. I am thankful to be part of this great nation.
Enjoy the dashcam video from Oregon this morning.
We made it to Tennessee so far. About another 8 hours to go. So we drove through California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennesee in about 32 hours.
The trucks alternator went out. We had it replaced. They fixed it on the side of HWY 40. These mechanics are awesome. Our ability to bring supplies to stores hinges upon great people like these mechanics.
This dashcam footage was from this morning. We sure live in a beautiful nation.
Good news from the front of the supply line.
Enjoy the dashcam footage.
We made it to the West coast. We picked up a full load from California and began the long trip to South Carolina. The warehouse we got our load from was packed with trucks. This trip is about 3000 total miles but only 2400 loaded miles. It will take about 40-50 hours.
I have seen gas prices down into the $1.15 range and Diesel fuel under $1.00. This helps truckers tremendously.
I am very optimistic and feel we will be able to start rebuilding our economy soon. We still live in the greatest nation on earth.
Good news from the front of the supply line.
We made it to Pennsylvania and it is beautiful. Again the receiver handed us brown-bagged lunches. It was a treat since we just drove over 21 hours. We delivered 38 thousand pounds of meat, rest assured, it will be in the stores shortly. I watched the yard truck move several trailers to load and ship out to stores.
We are now headed west. All the way west so it should take a couple of days. We have to wait a little bit for our load so I am sitting at a truck stop doing some much-needed laundry. The weather here is cool but sunny. I just want to lay back on the grass and get some sun.
I do believe our nation will be back to the new normal soon and we all can enjoy the spring.
Have a great rest of your day and remember we still live in the greatest nation on earth.
Good news from the front on the supply line.
We picked up a load of meat at National beef.
As we were checking in at the guard shack we were handed a Brown paper sack. It was a sandwich and soda. Super nice since many shippers and receivers can be pretty hard to deal with.
I just want to say that there are so many good things happening all around us but we sometimes can't see them. Please share your good news and let's build the US on that.
We will drive 21 hours straight to our receiver and now with full bellies.
For anyone thinking about driving a truck, there is no better time. Companies offer paid training for your CDL, full benefits with PTO. I submitted an application on a Sunday and by the following Sunday, I was with a trainer driving to Washington State. Our country needs both men and women, for years to come. PM this page and I will connect you with the person who got me started.
One thing is for sure, I am thankful to be part of the supply chain and even more thankful to live in this great nation.
Good news from the front of the supply chain.
We delivered over 40k pounds of chocolate yesterday from New Jersey to Georgia. Today it's over 42k pounds of beer. That's a great sign is means the supply chain is filling up the essentials and now able to fill even some of the non-essential. I say that knowing that in stressful times like these, chocolate and beer go a long way.
We are still virus free and running strong.
I want to thank all our new followers and remember if you run out of anything, I will be happy to mail it to your favorite store.
Good news from the supply chain front lines!
We made it to the receiver and delivered the 42 thousands pound of fresh fruit. We had to get some mechanic work done on the truck and fix a tire on the trailer. Our next load is meat and headed south.
The issues we are running into on the road is safe places to use the restroom and wash our hands. Many places are closed forcing us to hold going to the restroom for several hours. It is painful at times. Showers are also an issue as many truck stops have closed the showers. We do are best to keep a positive outlook but I must admit, there are days that take every bit of my will to get through.
I am still thankful that I wake up in the US everyday and that we live in the greatest country on earth. https://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/health/how-long-can-you-go-before-you-have-to-go.html
Update from the supply line.
We are getting loaded with over fourty thousands pounds of fresh produce.
Once we are loaded me will head East, driving 33 hours and 47 minutes straight to the receiver. That's three driving shifts total. If we leave the West coast at 11:00 AM we should be there at 10:17 PM tomorrow night. That's how fast we can fill a store with fresh produce.
Things are still looking good on the front lines and the US is doing great!
News from the supply line
We made it to our next delivery. We had about 42 thousand pounds of general merchandise.
The receiver would not let us pull into the dock for about eight hours. We needed to drop the trailer, pick up an empty trailer and head to our next load. This was a Sams club and in their defense, they were very busy.
Early in the morning, I went to find a restroom. I walked by the front of the store and there was a pretty long line. I continued past Sams club and walked into Lowes. It was surprisingly busy. Is lowes an essential business? I was thankful they were open because I really needed a restroom.
Overall things looked pretty good at Sams club. The racking was full, the backroom was full and trucks we're lined up to get the receiving docks.
Good news from the supply line.
So we finnally were moved to a dock and unloaded. The distribution center was packed. The amazing part about it was the efficacy.
Most of the time the receiver unloads the truck, stages the load, received it, and then put it away in the racking. Later a picker will come and pick from the racking of the warehouse and load it onto an outgoing truck.
In this case, they either swung the load from the inbound truck to outbound or picked it from the staging area. In both cases, they eliminated the time it took to get the supplies on an outbound truck and headed to a store.
So in short, again nothing to worry about as far as the supply chain. We grabbed another load and are headed north.
News from the front supply line.
Things are looking good!
We arrived at the drop-off and it was packed with inbound trucks. When I say packed I mean to the point that delivery trucks we're parked on the sides of the roads for miles. I counted on 500+ docks full and 300+ trucks standing by. We were early and were told that they could not unload us.
The distribution center was massive, about the size of three football fields. The guard shack just waved us by and we were moved into the lineup. I have not had a chance to visit with the warehouse personnel but will try to when they put us in a dock.
Overall, things look great and we are not even close to any type of food shortage. We still live in the greatest nation on earth and today is just a small example of why.
Update from the supply line.
We made it to California. We will have to wait until tomorrow to deliver to the distribution center as they are backed up with inbound deliveries.
While in New Mexico and Texas the truck stops were taking all necessary precautions, and so were the truck drivers. That was not the case in California. I stopped for fuel and went in to use the restroom. The truck stop was packed and the restroom was as crowded as a football stadium on game day. One guy was everything but taking a full bath in the sink while others lined up to wash there hands. It was warm and muggy, overcrowded, and no one was wearing protective gear.
I tried to get in and out. I had a Lysol wipe in my hand and held it over my mouth and nose.
Tomorrow I will give everyone an update on the state of this distribution center. This is one of the USA's largest warehouse chain.
To my Arizona family and friends.
Last night I was coming down the mountain toward Kingman. I had forty thousand pounds of freight destined for LA. The tractor started to coast and the motor got quiet. The moon was bright and the sky clear. A song came on, from one of my favorite bands with the lyrics, "Somewhere out there, miss you where I've been, l'll be back to love you again.' A peace came over me and I visulized trail riding, mountain climbing, BBQs, lake trips and celebrations. I smiled and just felt that everything is going to be OK. You will get through this. Just then, as I looked out of the large windshield, a falling star zoomed across the dark sky. I smiled again. Arizona is my home too and everything is going to be OK.
Way to show your support. Keep'em truck'en!
Quick update this morning.
I stopped in Gallup, NM for a quick restroom break. The truckstop was doing a great job of helping with physical distancing. The other drivers said they were extremely busy and just about everyone was wearing gloves and masks. As I was heading to the truck, I received the text from the CDC. (In the pictures)
I am still seeing the supply chain doing great, diesel pieces at an all-time low, and completely full trucks stop. Once I get to our destination, I will update everyone as to the fullness of the distribution centers.
Please keep your heads up, we still live in the best country on Earth. If you need anything important, please PM this page and I will try to mail it to you.
I have been driving all night and am just taking a quick bathroom break. The roads are just filled with other semi-trucks so travel is pretty smooth.
Once we get to our delivery address I will talk to the warehouse manager to see how things are going. This stop is a major distribution warehouse for a major warehouse chain. I have a feeling they will be in good shape but I will let everyone know.
If for some reason you do find yourself running out of something, PM this page and I will mail it to you.
News from the front supply line.
Things are still doing great out here.
We had to stop by our terminal for new permits and DOT inspection. Usually, our terminal is busy. This time it was empty. Hundreds of trailers and trucks we're out moving supplies.
We are now in Indiana picking up much-needed supplies for Los Angeles, CA. We will be there in about a day or so. Once we drop this load we will grab a load to bring back east.
As I visit these suppliers and talk to the warehouse personal, I am continually told that we have plenty to ship. Please be at peace today and know you live in the greatest nation on earth.
We just went by Penn State. It sure is beautiful here.
