Be an acupuncturist who treats meridians and collaterals, or MT Zang distributions ,not points.
60 years old female, who complained 20 years left hip pain,( patient said sciatica pain)
channels diagnose: Between GB30 to UB 54, there is no extending pain or tingling sensation . The pain was on and off for almost 20 years, it aggravated when walking and meeting cold .
In this case, both GB and UB involved , hip is lower Jiao , taking either shoulder or hand points ( Yin Yang alternate) as treatment . Taking pointes between Hand Shao Yang SJ and Hand Tai Yang SI , there is a special tenderness point between SJ6 and SI 6, exactly in the center between them , one needle at here for 45 mins , with D**g Qi method, pain reduced obviously .
Continue for three days , the third day add Wan Shun Yi as patient points out exactly point pain on UB 54. 90% improved after two visits.

San Jian 三肩穴 + Shou San Huo 火串，火陵， 火山。
San Jian points are specialized for frozen shoulder pain ( Which travels along with LU ), clavicle area and it could marked by extension limited .
Shou San Huo is a combination to warming Spine ( Connect Du channel) and unblocking Stagnation , especially working on cervical and thoracic vertebrae) .
Paring both groups in clinic for
Opposite Neck stiffness
Frozen shoulder marked by Cold- Deficiency .

Shen Guan is 1.5 cun inferior to 77.17 (Tian Huang - Heavenly Emperor)， and Si Zhi locates
3 cun below 77.19 (Di Huang - Earthly Emperor).
Together both points are used in clinic for

Modification is the key when you apply these points, just like modification of herbal formulas .
With running nose and nasal congestion:
Add Mu, Er Jiao Ming and Zhi Xian.
With sore throat :
Add Zu Qian Jin, Zu Wu Jin, Si Ma and San Zhong
With yellow mucus while coughing:
Add Zhong Zi, Zhong Xian, Da Jian, Zhong Jian and Xiao Jian.
With neck stiffness:
Add Er Jiao Ming and Hand Three Fires
With whole body generalize pain:
Add Zhong Li , Jian Li , Qu Ling,
With coughing:
Add Shou San Shi( Three scholars)
With Nausea , diarrhea , stomach pain and vomiting( stomach flu)
Add Tu Shui and Shou Jie.

Foot Five Fires： Huo Lian / Ju/ San + Huo Zhu/ Ying
How powerful on controlling Fire by this combo!
Foot points are more used on head symptoms , as Nei Jing indicated “素问五常政，原文：“气反者，病在上，取之下；病在下，取之上；病在中，傍取之。”又出自灵枢官针：“病在上，取之下，刺腑俞也。”又出自灵枢终始：“病在上者下取之；病在下者高取之；病在头者取之足；病在腰者取之腘。”Chapter 7， 9 and 70 are all emphasized Upper symptoms treated by points below , head symptoms treated by foot. Thus this combination is good for Fire disorders on head, such as
1, Kick in the head.
2, Hypertension, Dizziness and Fatigue ( Fire deficiency) , Red and swollen eyes and sty .
3, Meningitis , Heart failure and brain tumor.

Right testicular pain radiates to groin area.
considering Da Jian, Xiao Jian and Zhong Jian hernia combo ? But this patient has discoloration on Mu point.
Option 1: needling directly on the dark spots and no limitation on points of Jian and opposite Left needling.
Option 2: needling on Jian Points according to books .
