My story for Writing Battle is officially out of the running this time around, but I sure had fun! There were some seriously awesome submissions and I'm so proud to have been a part of this amazing contest.
The Boy in the Pantry The first time the ghost attacked him, Johnny assumed it was an accident. The Halloween decoration was hanging near the front door when a gust of wind blew the dusty fabric around his head. He fought it off to get inside, only to be tackled by his little sister, Olivia, who squeezed him tight around...

I tend to have tunnel vision when I'm working on something big (like my novel), so it's been nearly a decade since I've finished a short story.
I've been following these prompts for a year, so it feels good to finally be able to submit one!

Dear friends,
After much consideration and reflection, I have decided to postpone my book launch.
As eager as I am to release the story that has been 13 years in the making, I also want to ensure that it meets the standards I've set for myself and the experience I envisioned for my readers. So, I've decided to take a step back, reevaluate my approach, and dedicate more time to crafting an experience that I can be truly proud of and that my readers will enjoy.
I deeply appreciate your understanding and support during this process. Rest assured, I am fully committed to sharing this book with you, and will keep you updated on the new release date as soon as it's set.
Thank you for your encouragement and belief in my work. I am genuinely grateful for each and every one of you.

To say that Iβve been in a reading slump this year would be an understatement. I canβt seem to get through anything new, but Iβm not feeling my comfort reads, either.
So, I came up with a compromise: new reads, but Iβve watched the shows on Netflix. π§π€£
Hereβs to clawing out of the rut! π

Feel free to drop your current reads in the comments. π₯°

*Synopsis*
Following the death of her beloved aunt and her own devastating health diagnosis, grief-stricken Rosalee Andrews spirals into self-medication and other destructive behaviors until her family intervenes, sending her to a secluded healing retreat designed to support individuals with chronic illnesses.
Rosaleeβs return home intersects with the enigmatic arrival of the charming, witty, and at times, overly enthusiastic Alex Conway, but she remains focused on her journey to rebuild her shattered family and earn back their trust. Still, the more time she reluctantly shares with him, the more Rosalee realizes that Alex has as many skeletons in his closet as anyone.
The Nature of Cacti and Satellites explores grief, redemption, and the transformative power of love, whatever form it may take.
