Home Matters this past Saturday was at the Howard Brother's location in Oakwood! We spent the first hour with Andy Darnell from Howard Brothers and sampled many types of food cooked on a Traeger Grill!

The second hour was with Mike Herrington from Gainesville Mechanical who updated us on variable speed systems and the need for proper ductwork!

During our first hour this past Saturday, our guest was Stacey Dickson, President of the Lake Lanier Convention and Visitors Bureau. We learned about her activities and the tremendous impact the organization has on this area.

Our second hour featured Julie Edwards, Executive Director of The Humane Society. Julie talked about the Humane Society, how it works, and what prospective new "parents" should consider when adopting a pet.

Our second hour's discussion was with Appraiser Mary Thompson who talked about what she does to develop a value. We also learned about changes in the process that may be coming.

Last Saturday on Home Matters we were pleased to talk with Bud & Lola Harris of Harris Floorcoverings. We discussed the characteristics and advantages of many of today's high quality vinyl plank flooring options.

Our second hour was with Roger Moore of City Plumbing and Electric. We learned about how they decide what new lighting products to bring in and how they determine what to stock and what to order as needed.

In hour number 2 (9 am) we will talk with Roger Moore from City Plumbing and Electric. The discussion will focus on new products and in particular, what was new at the Dallas Lighting Market.

We had a terrific Home Matters show this past Saturday!

Our first hour featured "Inspector Bob" - Bob Hollis with Lanier Property Inspections. We talked about the inspection process and what homeowners should do to improve their homes.

During our second hour, Craig Shoemaker and Steve Roper talked with Amy Sutherland from The Norton Agency. Amy talked about what it takes to be a top notch Real Estate Agent and also the importance of the Hall County Board of Realtors!

During our 9:00 am hour, we will welcome Realtor Amy Sutherland. Amy is a "Dynamo" in our area and is the past President of The Hall County Board of Realtors. If you would like some real insight into how real estate works, it's a great time to listen!

This past Saturday featured Bud & Lola Harris from Harris Floorcoverings during our 8 am hour. We talked all things floor covering as well as more detailed information about their company.

During our second hour, the guest was none other than Santa Claus himself! It turns out that Santa has quite a sense of humor as he told us lots of details about how he manages to visit so many boys and girls for Christmas!

We normally talk about real estate, your home, the North Georgia market in which we live, and so on.

During our 9 am segment this Saturday, however, we have a very special guest…Santa Claus!

We will ask him important questions, such as…

What do you feed the reindeer?
How many elves do you have?
What do you do if a house has no chimney?
Where do you get your beard trimmed? (I know the answer to this one, it’s Santa Barbara!)

So if you have any little ones in your family who would like to listen to Santa, it will be a lot of fun.

Micah Wilson, the manager of Gainesville's Best Buy store was our first guest this past Saturday. We discussed the Best Buy way of doing things and what the hottest products are for this gift giving season!

In our second hour, our guest was Mark Collins, the owner and operator of Servpro of Gainesville. His company specializes in helping people recover from disasters - most often caused by water or by fire.

Remember that this coming Saturday, Homer Matters will feature Santa Claus in our 9am hour!

In our second hour, Craig Shoemaker - Realtor and Steve talked with Len Land who is the Owner of Coppermines Pest Control. We discussed the services offered by Coppermines along with the current hot topic of the challenges caused by spray foam insulation. Often, this product makes it impossible for proper pest inspection to take place.
