A much-needed getaway.
Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
The ending to the Blair Witch Project is supposedly so iconic... I always thought the dude was taking a p**s. πππ never cared for the movie at all lol but the meme is accurate.

The ideal snowy, cold winter night. βοΈπ
Watched this last night. One of my favorites to watch at Christmas. A perfect holiday horror/comedy. The creatures are awesome. The cast is perfect. The comedy is gold. And the ending is phenomenal. If you haven't seen it, Krampus is a must watch this Christmas season. ππ
What are some other under-the-radar Christmas movies you guys love?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! π¦Eat and drink just a little bit too much today. I promise, it's okay.
Hopefully now I can finally get back to writing.
The final scene of Shadyside was written the way it was because of a nightmare I had π

Me dragging my girlfriend back into the house to traumatize her with another horror movie
Halloween officially ends when your pumpkins lose their dentures
Catching up on some classics that I haven't gotten the chance to read. Starting with The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. For a book published in 1876, I didn't think I'd enjoy this as much as I did. I am a huge fan of books and movies that don't necessarily have a plot per se, but rather are a journey that the reader/viewer goes on with the characters. This was right up my ally. Tom and Huck were so entertaining to hang out with. It was a very easy read considering the time period. Can't wait for The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
Always makes my day. Thank you ππ

Yesterday, for the first time, I went to an IMAX theater to see my most anticipated movie of the year: Killers Of The Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese.
First off, IMAX is incredible. As advertised, it is the most immersive movie experience you could have. You felt every sound and the screen engulfed you. Absolutely stunning picture.
The movie itself was, dare I say the word, a MASTERPIECE of cinema. Not a shock coming from the world's greatest director. The pacing of the movie was phenomenal. It had to be in order to pull off a 3 and a half hour film. I could definitely tell Ari Aster's influence in the cinematography as Scorsese said was the case. Some of the overhead, wide angle still shots, quick cuts to horrific images and one scene in particular where day transitions to night were very reminiscent of Hereditary, Midsommar and Beau Is Afraid. It was absolutely beautiful.
DiCaprio, DeNiro, Lily Gladstone and Jesse Plemons all killed it in their roles. You could just feel the heartbreak of Mollie's charafter. She had just been through so much and it all came to a head in one explosive scene that was heart wrenching.
The book (one of my favorite books I've read this year) seemed so difficult to turn to a film successfully. But it delivered in a big way.
Only thing I'd say is that this movie took place over a few years and some things were not explained that well that had me confused in the end. Just some small details.
All in all, one of the best films of the year. I'm so happy I finally got to see a Scorsese movie in theaters.

And all independent artists!
It's always good to get some negative reviews to knock you down a peg. Can't win them all. Not everybody will like your work and that's okay. I'm of the belief that not everybody should! I used to suck at taking criticisms, even if they were perfectly constructive. But it's all part of writing and any art form. You take from them and learn!
Sigh...
Only 364 days until Halloween! Think I'll keep the decorations up and costume on until then. ππ€‘
IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR ππͺππ€‘ Happy Halloween everyone!
My favorite costume ever. Mainly because of Tank (miss you buddy) playing Georgie!
My last two brain cells plotting the twist ending to my next horror novel.
