How do you approach your savings and retirement fund growth?

Unless you're looking to spend a lot of money on entertainment with stock trading, investors do best when they stick with a plan so that they don’t get caught up in emotional trading and impulse buys.

For example, during Covid, some online groups took advantage of betting-style trading and made money driving up the prices of junk stocks like Bed Bath & Beyond and Gamestop. Like musical chairs, when the music stopped playing and the gang stopped buying and cashed out, the outlying shareholders lost their shirts.

🎲🎲 The impulsive traders lost out because they didn’t have a solid investment plan so they didn’t know when to stop.

They didn't have a reasonable strategy for stock buying.

If you're invested in the stock market right now, you're probably holding onto your long positions waiting for the upswing, which could be months away.
In this choppy market where the Fed keeps raising interest rates, the stock market is going to jerk up and down a lot on that news.
This morning brings another chunky sell-off in the general markets (DIA, SPY, QQQ, IWM) which means we can make short-term profits trading the downs of the day and staying short-term.
We can specifically market pay us through my list of 6 down-day ways: collect dividends on long positions, short stock positions, sell calls, buy puts, and even participate in a brokerage firm's "fully paid stock lending" programs.
The 6th great thing to do on down-days is to find the strongest value companies that have already taken a beating from the news and past corrections, like some companies and funds that profit from gas and oil.
Lately, the financial sectors have been fairly decent because when interest rates rise the banks can make a higher margin profit, and there are some other bullish picks for the taking out there if you would rather invest for longer than the micro-term.
In general, to invest for longer than a day in this choppy market, I suggest that we just have to research and find the companies that are up when the general market is down.
Remember- you CAN make money on down days!

But listen. Better not to risk than to risk too much, especially if the trades are generated by temporary news, shock, and/or irrational emotional reactions. It's better to have a solid plan before entering positions.

🌝Yesterday's full moon brought a small rally to the global stock market system. 🌝
That is after last week's dip on fears of inflation creeping up to 4%...as well as some consumer retail numbers that were lower than the market expected. Plus there's the Delta virus and the T-Ban issue.
But today, the Asian markets are up.✅ Traders are showing a bit more confidence after the uncertainty last week.
🥨🍞 Most predictable future moves do get "baked in" ahead of actual moves. Interest rate hike issues that have been driving the market into choppy waters lately are actually getting baked in.
☝ And if you look at the overall "best in breed" companies over time, in the long term, in diversified portfolios, these temporary market dips don't make as much of a difference as the gains because the charts generally move up to the right as the best companies expand and increase their earning so that prices are driven higher. That's why it's important to invest in the best if you have a long term strategy, like in a retirement fund.
🇲🇺🇸 American stock futures are trading higher and the morning looks like it will open on the upside...which is good to know because there are several ways to make money off of moves like this.

European bank policy hasn’t changed today. Higher Inflation report from the European Central Bank this morning moved the market a bit down, bond yields slightly 🆙 but key rates are left unchanged so overall stock market price pushes higher.
