The SKAtridge Family
A real life family playing ska, punk, reggae originals and reimagined covers from the 60's to today.
Our band name inspiration! (Yes, some of us are THAT old and watched this show growing up 😁)
53 years ago today, The Partridge Family premiered. It ran from September 25, 1970 until March 23, 1974, on the ABC network as part of a Friday-night lineup, and had subsequent runs in syndication. The family was loosely based on the real-life musical family The Cowsills, a popular band in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The SKAtridge Family had a blast playing Maplewood Porchfest! Many thanks to the organizers and everyone that came over to see us even though it was a bit of a scorcher 🥵 in the afternoon! Also, thanks to our porch hosts!
We are playing at 3-4pm! 202 Franklin Street!
The 6th annual Maplewood Porchfest will be held on Labor Day Sunday, September 3, rain date Monday, September 4.

Here's a preview from our debut show playing a cover of The Interrupters "This is My Family" on the official Bone Pool Radio - Maplewood, NJ porch back in May 2021! We've since added a new SKAtridge Family member, with Sammy D. on Saxophone!
The SKAtridge Family - SKA Punk! Covers and Originals
Formed in their basement in April of 2021, The SKAtridge Family band name was inspired by the famed 1970’s show The Partridge Family. However, these New Jersey residents, have opted to drive around in a hybrid vehicle instead of a gas-powered colorfully painted bus. Instead of playing teen "heartthrob" music, they play selections from the 1960's to the present day with reggae, dub, ska and a bit o' punk mixed in. Mom is on vocals & guitar, dad plays bass, the kids are on percussion, trumpet and saxophone!
