Have a great Friday everyone!
I found this "New products" block on one of the popular online fashion stores and thought it might be useful to show how it could be improved. What could they bring into this user experience? Keeping in mind that the goal of product cards in online stores is to get more clicks to the product page, and ultimately to drive more users all the way to purchase, there are some missing opportunities here.
1. Product listings should have a visible title - it makes it much easier for a user to understand the offering. For example, on the first image it's not clear - is it top or shorts are being sold
2. It's very important to show price (with luxury items being an exception). Price plays a vital role in decision making when it comes to shopping, and as a store owner, you want to provide your user with all the necessary info early on.
3. If an item is on sale - show it, and do it very clear, in a couple of places!
See the second slide for my mockup of these improvements.
