“Every beginning comes from some other beginning’s end” - Seneca. What are you beginning today?
Grateful for days where I can work from home with warm cups of tea *and* make time to pull tarot.
I know it’s still too early, but I had to get my fall feels going!!!
As I start to get back out on the road more often for work, I’m always reminding myself to take the quieter moments to just be. Found myself a lovely cuppa cherry blossom tea in Nashville.

Friday night feels after a stressful week of just getting through it.
Story: What am I unable...? — Lisa Kjellström There’s something that’s turned me loose from safe harbor. I’ve wandered beyond myself. I’ve meandered in thought right away from my own being - like a toddler that’s lost the grip of his mother’s hand. At first, I didn’t quite realize I was lost…but now that awareness has gripped my...

I think I just needed a day today! I needed a day away from work and into my kitchen to “double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble!” To make time away from my desk for a spell and try out all sorts of yummy pumpkin recipes...on the docket included:
1. Pumpkin chocolate chip banana bread
2. Butternut squash and pumpkin soup with turmeric, ginger, cumin, and any other fall spice I could find in the cupboard.
3. Toasted walnut, honey, and pumpkin bread (needs to rise overnight so baking that one tomorrow to go with the soup).
4. Pumpkin & sausage pasta with spiced homemade tomato sauce from my wonderful neighbor!
It felt so good to make some magic happen! And yes, I felt it only fitting to finish the day with a pumpkin face scrub!!! 🍁 🎃

“Be the moon and inspire people even when you’re far from full” - K. Tolnoe Waxing crescent evening sunset vibes 🌙🌒🌛
Finding comfort in discomfort and calm in uncertainty. This seems to be my go-to pose lately when my husband asks to take a picture!! I think it’s because it simply makes me smile. We could all use some simple smiles every now and then! 😀

Poem: Finally home — Lisa Kjellström You. You. You. You beautiful majestic being. You creative life-force of soul & heart & mystery &… back to being. You sure know how to constantly keep me guessing. Digressing. Obsessing. Second guessing. And third. And fourth. And fifth… All your you-ness is essential. Revere
After marrying my Swedish husband, I very quickly adapted the concept of the Swedish-style “fika”. Fika is often translated as "a coffee and cake break", which is kind of correct, but really it is so very much more than that!
Fika is a concept, a state of mind, an attitude and an important part of Swedish culture. Many Swedes consider that it is almost essential to make time for fika every day. It means making time for friends and colleagues to share a cup of coffee (or in my case, tea) and a little something to eat. I enjoy making the time for this important ritual in my everyday life. What rituals do you value in your everyday life?
“When in doubt, take a bath” - Mae West
We are all running ourselves ragged at the moment. Worrying through the uncertainty. Planning for the unplannable. We are pushing productivity to the max to get jobs back online, children’s e-learning spaces ready, food on the tables through the grocery store battle grounds, and some semblance of a new normal under our belts. Resting right now feels like a luxury many of us can’t afford, but it is truly a non- negotiable. Mother Nature rests throughout the cycles of the seasons. No flower can bloom 24/7. And neither can we. Rest dear ones, rest.
Saturday’s are for reading and rest!
Telling your story is the greatest gift you can give somebody. Taking time on a Saturday afternoon to journal & reflect on your current chapter is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself!
Morning artwork. Brushstrokes of the sky filling a new day with hope.
Slow Saturday afternoons - as the thunder clouds begin roll in - are for deep breathes and deep sips.

Story: Finding comfort in the discomfort — Lisa Kjellström 2020 has brought with it a time of significant discomfort. Of dis-ease. We are all struggling on oh so very many fronts right now. We are balancing the fear of going outside the safely defined perimeters of our own homes with worry over what may happen if that perimeter becomes breached. We are navi
I took this photograph a week ago when I was in northern Michigan staying in a remote cabin with my husband to get a change of environment in all of this quarantine uncertainty. I wanted to remind myself how wise the trees around us are. Trees are rooted in this time and this place. They have seen oh so very many stories. They have endured as storms come and storms go. They have remained standing. Yes, they have wavered, yes, they have been weathered, yes, they been forced to grow in new and unexpected ways to seek the light they need, but they have remained connected to their roots. They have remained grounded. And that gives them the ability to be pushed and pulled during challenging times and remain wisely and firmly standing. This is my wish for all of us.
The new moon is a fantastic opportunity to pause. on. purpose. To take stock of what you have learned during the past month’s chapter of life and to manifest what you would like to create next month and beyond in your unique story of life.
Every so often, especially on a rainy summer Sunday, we need to take a moment for reflection and relaxation. I’m reminded of one of my favorite Irish sayings, “life is like a cup of tea. It’s all in how you make it.” How is everyone holding up this Sunday afternoon? What kind of tea have you made of this day?

Poem: The Dragonfly — Lisa Kjellström Do you ever think about a moment you simply can’t get back? Wonder in unknowing waters how to return But just don’t have the know how…just don’t have the knack? Today a winged dragonfly lay down beside me on my garden rug. He said, “hello, just passing through, but please take notice as I....
Happy Tuesday! Did you know that Tuesday that the Latin for Tuesday is “day of Mars”? And now Mars has entered its home sign of Aries for six months, there’s a lot of fiery energy in our midst! What can we do to fuel our own personal fires? What new story can you dream up for yourself and what actions can you take to shape it and get it ready to share with the world? We’ve all been in this great moment of pause in some way or another, but perhaps all this fiery energy in the cosmos is inviting us into action once again!
Needed a little storytelling insight this morning so I turned to one of my favorite tools, tarot. Did a three-card spread and asked, “where am I today spiritually, physically, and emotionally?” The insights, as always, were profound. I had already known I wanted to turn more toward strengthening my physical foundation, and the tarot validated that intuition! I see long walks, green & clean foods, yoga practice, meditation and breath work, and hopefully some summertime swims in my future! What physical activities do you do to strengthen your body?
I’ve always been fascinated by the stories the stars tell us and what we can learn from the world above.
Last night, the skies spoke loudly and they often! The heavens opened and the rain heaved down relentlessly, pounding on the roof and demanding my attention. The air rolled and rumbled with displeasure for hours reminding me of the collective and the cosmos outside my bedroom windowpanes. The once dark night sky erupted angrily with firey flashes and energetic explosions.
After the night’s performance, I sit here on this drizzling Saturday morning, tired, drained, and yet somehow restored and cleansed. I think about what tomorrow will bring when Mars, the god of war, moves into Aries, his home sign, and stays there for six months! What will our work be during this period of intensity? For me, both the sun and Mars are in Aries and six of my ten signs are fire signs. So I’m seeing this as an extended homecoming of sorts. Just as COVID-19 brought many of us into our physical comes for extended periods of time, so too can the Mars bring us home to our internal selves and to stoke the fires of our internal flames and passions. I’ve been thinking a lot about the archetype of the spiritual warrior. When is it time to raise arms and fight for a cause and for a belief? And how do we balance that energy with coming home to ourselves? To being restored. To being cleansed.
What is your story as a spiritual warrior? ⚡
This time last year, I celebrated Midsommar in my husband’s home country of Sweden with him and many of our dear friends. We made flower crowns, danced around the maypole, and celebrated the shared beginnings of the summer season. We dined on deliciously fresh strawberries right off the vines growing in the fresh air, fish straight from the watery ocean baked on a open-flame firey grill, and fresh new potatoes from the earth’s soil. It was a beautiful celebration of life and the elements and one I remember very fondly today.
