‘parkplay’ Relaunch

Saturday saw the relaunch of Shildon ParkPlay in Hackworth Park with, Carl, Dylan and Darren who were on site to facilitate the session.

17 individuals attended the relaunch along with Deputy Mayor, Cllr Kelly Ambrosini.

This a fantastic, family friendly, FREE activity which takes place every Saturday in Hackworth Park, Shildon 10am – 11am. Come along and try it, no one ever feels down after exercising and being outdoors, it’s great for the mind!

My name is Carl Draper and I’ll be taking over shildon parkplay from next Saturday for the next year! Excited for the opportunity and can’t wait to meet everyone and enjoy some great activities together!

Abit about me - I’m 25 years old and hold a coaching degree, been involved with sport all my life

I hope to see as many people as possible down there next Saturday as we hope to kick parkplay back off with a bang! Tell your friends, and get your parents along

I will release more details about potential prizes for weekly competitions we have planned 🤫

PlayLeaders are the most important people at ParkPlay. They are the ones making ParkPlay happen week in, week out providing free activities for the people of Shildon.

Dylan has been coming to Shildon ParkPlay since it started, he then became a ParkPlay volunteer and is now a fully trained PlayLeader.

Saturday 21st October marked the launch of our 50th ParkPlay in the UK!

Up and down the country 50 communities have been motivated into action with the support of our very important local partners. The Playleaders and local volunteers in each community that make ParkPlay a reality. The ParkPlay team who have established the processes, plans and permissions to make ParkPlay as safe & welcoming as possible. Thank everyone who's helped on every step of the way, including Decathlon our equipment partner.

This is just the start - ParkPlay is on a mission to bring communities together all across the UK. We have a vision, a mission and plan to make it happen. We invite you to be part of our journey. Our aim is thousands of ParkPlays and hundreds of thousands of millions of people playing, communities doing it for themselves.
