Holiday sled for our front stoop!

Don’t spend an arm and a leg on fancy linen napkins for the holidays. Make them yourself! Check out my latest Instagram post on how to DIY.

My best friend LOVES to host holidays. She starts planning her tablescape months ahead of time. She sent me an image of linen napkins that she really wanted to buy and I was shocked at how much they were going to cost. So the DIYer in me said that’s ridiculous, I can make you some. For $45 worth of four yards of linen, she is getting 24 napkins! Which is saving her around $75! (Shipping not included in that estimate) DO IT YOURSELF: -Cut the linen into 18x18 squares. -Tighten the tension on your sewing machine and sew a border half an inch in around the edge. -Hand fray the edges buy pulling one to a few strings at a time. (This takes a bit but it’s actually really calming.) -Increase tension to a normal stitch and stitch another border a quarter of an inch in from the other boarder. - Boom! Is anyone else a Nov 1st Christmas person? I don’t know about you but so much planning and work goes into decorating for Christmas that I want to enjoy it as long as I can. But what about Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is the appetizer to Christmas!!!! And our wedding anniversary (Nov 17th) is the cocktail hour to it all!

Before and after I got this credenza from a friend! They are remodeling parts of their home and were letting go of this piece. I sanded the top and the front of the drawers. Then I applied stain to the sanded parts in the tone “natural”. I painted the rest of the body with black chalk paint. In total I probably spent around $10-$15 on this upcycle!
