Thank God for a successful electric day ⚡️ For those who think actors are asking for too much, here are a few pretty staggering facts: - 86% of actors don’t meet their insurance benefit threshold of 26k/yr to qualify for SAG health insurance. - Only 7% of SAG members make over 80k/yr. - for the strike to end the AMPTP would have to concede less than 1% of their profits. 🤯 A lot of people are still unaware of what we’re striking for… so here are a few, but not all, points: 1- AI taking actors jobs, especially young actors on Disney and Nickelodeon shows who could easily be replaced by AI. This is also true for voice actors. 2- SAG members pensions haven’t been renegotiated in 30+ years, and the cost of living has skyrocketed. 3- Against unfair wages and for a small % of the pie from all the streaming platforms. They continue to air shows and reap the benefits, without fair distributions to the performers & writers. It was a beautiful show of faces supporting each other during this difficult time for everyone in our industry. Love my artists, my community of performers and storytellers. We shouldn’t still be waiting for an agreement to be reached, but we are and we remain strong. ⚡️
