places to see: San Alfonso del Mar, Algarrobo, Chile.
San Alfonso del Mar is a resort located in Algarrobo, Chile featuring a 1,000m long, 19-acre outdoor pool, 250 million liters of water which holds a Guinness world record as the largest in the world.
Apart from its large size, the lagoon has another spectacular feature: its waters have the transparency and intense turquoise color of tropical seas. This has been made possible thanks to an advanced technology developed by the Chilean company Crystal Lagoons, which uses water pumped from the Pacific Ocean, that is then filtered and treated for supply to the pool, built at the cost of US$3.5 million whilst the maintenance costs are said to be 1/4th of those associated to a pro golf course.
For sport lovers, there are sport schools imparting training classes on sailing, kayak, scuba diving, swimming, ocean navigation, golf, tennis and paragliding, and they also will find at their disposal artificially-lit five-a-side soccer courts, volleyball courts and tennis courts, a real statutory soccer field, a last-generation 3D golf simulator and a gym with large windows that enjoy a stimulating overview of the lagoon.
The Beach Club with spa, a tempered beach under a crystal pyramid, open-air Jacuzzis, sauna, beauty parlor and gym; the Blue Spa, the first medical spa in Chile; the cybercafé; the exhibition and cultural activities room; the open-air amphitheater; the Lighthouse Café with icecream parlor and teashop; the sushi Lighthouse; the supermarket and the North Bay pub-restaurant with its own dock and a large terrace along the lagoon’s coastline – where often amusing parties and shows are held – are also part of San Alfonso's facilities.
places to see: Bermuda.
Bermuda is a British overseas territory located in the North Atlantic Ocean. It consists of 138 islands that form a fishhook-shaped landmass, stretching some 22 miles in length and about a mile across. Bridges and causeways connect the eight largest islands.
Spanish navigator, Juan de Bermudez (for whom the islands are named), discovered the area in 1505 and claimed it for the Spanish Empire.
Visitors to Bermuda are always interested in the housing, which is comprised of cement block in order to preserve the native coral limestone. The architecture has been adapted to withstand the hurricanes and extreme winds Bermuda experiences.
Famed for Bermuda shorts, the original Bermuda onion, and of course the Bermuda Triangle, the island's tourism has grown significantly over the last 50 years.
Bermuda's pink sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, offshore reefs and the Royal Naval Dockyard are major attractions. Of note: it is not possible to rent a car on the island, so in addition to walking the pleasant streets, many travelers choose to rent a bicycle or scooter.
sthap4fun: Looks like fun: Elli Beach - Rhodes Town, Greece
Looks like fun: Elli Beach - Rhodes Town, Greece
Double-decker cable car with open-air sundeck, Stanserhorn mountain, Switzerland.
The Stanserhorn is a mountain located in Switzerland, specifically, in the canton of Nidwalden close to the border with Obwalden, at 1898 meters above sea level.
On 29 June 2012, a new cable car was opened to the public, with a capacity of 60 persons in each of the two cars. Unusually it has a double decker arrangement, and is claimed to be the first in the world with an open-air upper deck, with standing room for 30 persons. This runs from Kälti to the summit, with the original 1893 funicular railway running from the base at Stans to this intermediate station.
The thought of riding on a cable car which soars 1,900 metres up into the Swiss Alps will strike fear into the hearts of those who are afraid of heights.
But at least being encased in glass can usually offer some kind of comfort to terrified passengers and a semblance of safety.
For those riding on the world's first convertible cable car, however, even that small crumb of security won't be available.

places to see: Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
If you fancy a dip in this pool, you'll need a head for heights - it's 55 storeys up.
But swimming to the edge won't be quite as risky as it looks. While the water in the infinity pool seems to end in a sheer drop, it actually spills into a catchment area where it is pumped back into the main pool. At three times the length of an Olympic pool and 650ft up, it is the largest outdoor pool in the world at that height.
It features in the impressive, boat-shaped 'SkyPark' perched atop the three towers that make up the world's most expensive hotel, the £4billion Marina Bay Sands development in Singapore.
The infinity pool on the roof is in the 'SkyPark' which spans the three towers of the hotel. The platform itself is longer than the Eiffel tower laid down and is one of the largest of its kind in the world.
Infinity pools give the effect that the water extends to the horizon. In reality, the water spills over the edge into a catchment below, and is then pumped back into the pool. The pools have two circulation systems. The first functions like that of a regular pool, filtering and heating the water in the main pool. The second filters the water in the catch basin and returns it to the upper pool.
Developed by Las Vegas Sands, it is billed as the world's most expensive standalone casino property at S$8 billion, including cost of the prime land.
