A big 2 days for Mason, a soccer clinic yesterday with Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar FC at the Mildura Sporting Precinct and today a busy day watching the women’s Ninja A league between Adelaide united and Western United FC, and then the main event between the Adelaide united and Brisbane Roar with a hard match ending in a 1 all draw. Big thank you to the Mildura Base Hospital, Mildura, Victoria and One Agency Mildura for bringing this event to town. The highlight of day 1 was a one on one kick the one of the Roar players after the clinic and also a one on one kick with the same player after the game today when his team mates where in the locker rooms post match this young man (16 years old) Quinn MacNicol played kick to kick with mason, he gave big sis Ava a hug and even when mason asked for his training top Quinn went off in search he couldn’t give his top out but gave Mason his personal shin pads it was a little overwhelming for little Mason he burst into tears and couldn’t stop hugging his new hero. He hasn’t stopped talking about Quinn since yesterday and no doubt will be sleeping with his new shin pads on. For a kid that had 52% lung function in July he has rebounded with the help of the Mildura hospital and paediatrician Peter with his 4 day admission and also the The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne for further 2 weeks he is in a good place for summer 7’s soccer.
Today marks the first day of a few different types of Awarness. Today is our first day of PCD Awareness for October PCD and we are lucky enough that the president of PCD is in London to spread the word about PCD Australia.
Unfortunately we are not able to do our ride this year for a few different reasons but we are going to make it bigger next year.
But to spread the awareness Mason and Ava will ride 69 km this year, as we recently found out there is now 69 Genes associated with PCD wowsers!! It started at 44 genes when Mason was 3 years old, he is now 9 and they have found 25 more genes.
So we still want to raise some money, so we are wondering if anyone can help this year, we’d like to do a raffle if anyone can offer any donations PM me or you can also sponsor Mason for his ride. Any thing is a help.
Save the date!
