About 80 years ago, our grandmother was born in a village called Koorer in Punjab. Her maternal family was renown throughout the region as famous Ayurvedic practitioners. Our grandmother was best known in the family for learning non-stop—despite growing up without extensive schooling, she taught herself how to read and write multiple languages so that she could study medical textbooks. Throughout her life, she provided medical help to anyone that came to her for free or for in-kind favors. Her name was Bhajan Kaur, but her friends and family simply called her Baavo.

She passed on much of her knowledge to her children (which conveniently included our mother), and another generation later, her grandchildren, Ivraj 👳🏾‍♂️ and Simi 💁🏾‍♀️, are trying to think of ways to let people manage their health on their own terms.

Our hope is to combine compelling products with a sustainable business model to continue the family mission of improving the health of the community. Our project is called Baavo Wellness.
