Never build your own home! I mean I love my new home and I love that we designed it and worked closely with the builders and made all the decisions but I was not prepared for the stress and anxiety that came with this, or frankly the fact that months of my life would become just making sure that things were done or doing them myself. Which we did SOOOOO MANY things ourselves in the end that we never intended.
But I have this beautiful sewing studio that I LOVE!! It is also my office because I have a day job, I work from home here. And it’s also my gym, note the bench, weights and yoga mat tucked into one corner.
I love my design wall and the cutting mats I got from . I have my pressing station with pressing mats and iron.
And most of the furniture is from ! Except my sewing table from .
And along with the new home and new studio, I picked up a new studio cat! This is Dolly! She was living on my mom’s farm, and really wanted to be an indoor cat. I promised once we had a bigger house I would take her in, and she moved right into the studio!
I’m so excited to start sharing lots of things from my new space! Let me know in the comments what you want to know more about, either in the studio or other things!

So if you’re there, look for my bag or my jacket and say Hi!! And I’ll share all the fun here as time permits!

Have you ever made a mistake? Have you ever made twice as many quilt blocks than you needed? Have you ever wonder what in the heck you were thinking??? I’ve spent the last 3 days trying to talk myself out from under covers after just such a mistake! I’m feeling like such a fool! I kept thinking this felt like so many blocks but I didn’t have a real pattern I was following, this was a pattern I’m in the middle of writing. I needed to finish the quilt since it was a commission for my cousin so I didn’t have time to double check my math! Ugh! I guess I have a quilt for myself too!
I’m working on an exciting new project and have been audition fabric for a while. I think I finally found the winner! Watch here for updates and to see how you can become part of the fun!
