What do we believe in?

For us, that's an easy question... and it has a lot of answers.

First of all, we believe in community care, and commonsense legislation. More specifically, that means we believe in adequately funding public education. We believe in healthcare that makes sense for working families— and that means we believe in expanding Medicaid. Most of all, we believe in community and our obligation to serve our neighbors.

That's why Matt is working double time, as both a teacher and coach, who is now running for office as well: because he believes in us.

We could not be more excited to announce our endorsement by Governor Kelly and Lt. Governor Rogers. Their commitment to public education and accessible healthcare has never been more important or more evident, and we cannot wait to fight for those same values - Kansas values - at the State House.

As a teacher, I have watched my students’ families - our families - struggle to afford the healthcare they need. I’ve seen their parents forced to make a difficult choice between healthcare and other bills paid. By expanding Medicaid, we will not only give 150,000 Kansans the care they deserve, but we will also bring 13,000 new jobs to our state. This is no longer a debate: we must expand Medicaid.
