Molly Matheson- Alpenglow Ceremonies
Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant and Wedding Officiant
Ahh the engine bridge! A favourite spot in Canmore for wedding ceremonies and wedding photographs ❤️Happy Easter weekend🐰🐣🪺
I have been neglecting my social media precense big time 🙈 but the reason is that I have been so busy working with clients “irl” to create their memorable and meaningful wedding ceremonies 🥹. I feel so lucky!!
This summer is shaping up to be so much fun with a mix of hiking elopments, heli weddings, camping weddings, backyard weddings, and huge weddings with all the bells and whistles on the books for Alpenglow ceremonies. I am loving the variety and the personalization of each ceremony. If you’ve been thinking of reaching out, please get in touch. I only have a few more spots open for summer 2024 🥂
In addition to wedding ceremonies, I’ve been offering a variety of community ceremonies over the past year, ceremonies that honour the cyclical nature of life and the seasons of our natural world. These spaces invite us to pause, to reflect, help us honour transitions and make sense of our inner and outer worlds. When we take time for ceremony, we create subtle shifts in our collective consciousness. When we slow down, we allow space for transformation to happen 💫
I finished off the year officiating beautiful wedding ceremony for a local couple, Judith and Vojta. It’s such a joy to be a part of these moments with amazing couples. Looking forward to many more weddings in 2024 ❤️
Happy solstice from my corner of the world to yours ❤️
Alongside two other local women, I have been planning a Winter Solstice Gathering at Star6 Ranch, a 20 minute drive from Canmore. The Winter Solstice is a deeply reflective time, where the nights are long and the earth takes time to rest. At this time we are invited to follow in the earth’s rhythms and slow down, rest and go inwards.
This gathering is an opportunity for us to collectively honour the Winter Solstice, while honouring our own internal slowing down process. At this gathering, we will do some reflective journalling on the past year, create an earth offering, sing around a bonfire and share in a potluck.
Half of the evening will be spent in a wood-warmed yurt and the other half will be spent outside creating an earth offering and singing around a bonfire. With that being said, dress cozy and warm.
People of all genders are welcome. We welcome you to sign up and bring the following with you:
*an open heart
*warm clothes
*a cushion, bolster or mat
*a blanket
*a journal and a pencil
*a potluck item to share
Please note that you must fill out a waiver prior to coming https://tinyurl.com/star6ranchwaiver
If you had asked me a few years ago if I’d be a wedding celebrant I would have never guessed my path would lead me here. Alpenglow ceremonies is a culmination of many years of allowing myself to lean into the subtle pull of things I really love. It started as a passion for planning little ceremonies for myself and my friends to celebrate milestones: marriages, breakups, births, deaths, seasons, cycles. I was invited to start running women’s circles at a yoga studio in Canmore, and I found that I really enjoyed creating rituals of healing and connection for the group. I was asked to officiate a friends wedding and invited to teach yoga at the studio where I was doing the circles. It’s as if the universe just kept placing bread crumbs on my path and all I had to do was follow them. I developed a deep reverence for the power of good ceremony, and the art of holding space. Choosing to be married to another human being is such a profound experience. I am honoured to walk this path and to be steeped in love and connection through my work 💕
The beautiful thing about love is that it's an experience we share with the whole of humankind. And yet, to everyone who falls in love, it is the most unique, precious thing in the world. It’s both universal, and deeply personal.
Here’s to celebrating ALL the love stories that weave together the fabric of our collective humanity 🥂 🎉 🌈

So what is a Life-Cycle Celebrant?
Life-Cycle Celebrants are graduates of the Celebrant Institute and Foundation, where we are trained to create ceremonies to celebrate threshold moments in people’s lives: welcoming of new babies, coming of age, marriages, commitment ceremonies, healing and transition ceremonies, funerals and memorials, as well as ceremonies to enrich daily life and foster community. We believe in the power of ceremony to create meaning and foster connection throughout a persons life.
My recent completion of the Wedding Certification allows me to create and perform personalized wedding and commitment ceremonies that reflect each couple and what crossing this threshold means to them.
Our process of open collaboration and co-creation is one of the tenets of Life-Cycle Celebrancy. Every aspect of the ceremony should reflect the couple and the love that they share, and they get the final say on the Ceremony script.
If you have any questions, I am happy to chat!
The first wedding I ever officiated, the one that planted the seed for this idea that I might become a wedding celebrant. Thank you friends for trusting me with your big day!! After this day, I started to dream about becoming a celebrant, officially.
I have always been drawn to the big moments in life, the peaks and valleys of the human experience. As I began my studies at the Celebrant Institute and Foundation, I began to feel like this was a job that fit so seamlessly with the work I had already begun exploring, the women’s circles, the yoga teaching, the study of ceremony and ritual.
Walking alongside couples, hearing their why for getting married, creating a ceremony that resonates with them and holding space for this rite of passage is an incredible honour. It’s work that truly speaks to my heart and soul.
A few weeks ago I did a branding photoshoot with Georgi which was honestly SO MUCH FUN. Georgi is such a pro and made me feel so relaxed in front of the camera.
And then to have .ris87 and model for an “elopement” was just the dream.
Disclaimer: these two are NOT married (yet 😉) but soaking in their energy and witnessing their connection made me beyond excited to do this work. Love is something that deserves to be celebrated!! I cannot wait to create unforgettable ceremonies for one-of-a-kind couples 🌈🫶💍
