First race of the season under our belts! All the kids did great! We also welcomed a new team member from the Czech Republic! His name is Miky and he’s raced nationally over there. We can’t wait to see the kids improve over the season! Also checkout our new look. We love it!

This season we have started a new tradition of “The Golden Chain”! It was hand made by several coaches with love. Coaches will discuss and pick a team member to earn the chain based off of practices, effort, attitude etc.

Kaylyn Crump was the first to earn the chain!
She is new to the team this year. She is in 7th grade. Kaylyn has improved so much over the month and has made lots of gains! Good job Kaylyn!

Stick talk at practice with a few sessions on turns and shifting. 🏔️

All riders who want personalized plates with their names must be "practice ready" in the Pit Zone and in the correct category by July 17th in order to receive a custom plate for the 2024 season! 🎆

➡️ You do not need to "order" a custom plate, you just need to be "practice ready" in the Pit Zone.

Have questions? Reach out to your Team Director! 🤔

06/06/2024

Come see us and get a MANKY or a sweet treat! Good luck to all the racers!

Hello Racers!
Fears, Tears, and Beers is upon us! It sure snuck up quick but the course is marked, the trails are in great shape, the weather is going to be hot, and we are looking forward to seeing all of you in Ely!
Please read this in its entirety. It will answer a lot of questions you may be having about this year’s race.

Packet pick up opens up tomorrow at 5pm at the BRISTLECONE CONVENTION CENTER. The convention center is behind the Jailhouse Casino at 150 Sixth Street. You can check in, pick up your riders pack, get tickets to the raffle until 8pm. The bar will be open serving up some delicious brews from Shoetree Brewery in Carson City. At 8pm we will show the history of freeride mountain biking movie…”Nothing Is For Free” and the bar will stay open through the movie.

If you are a volunteer or want to volunteer, we will have a mandatory volunteer meeting at the convention center at 7pm to go over stations, safety, timing system, and communications.
All Friday activities are taking place at the BRISTLECONE CONVENTION CENTER at 150 Sixth St.

On Race Day we will open check in at 7am and close it at 7:30am at the scoring station in Broadbent Park. It’s open but you are not encouraged to wait till the morning of the race to check in. Pro and Expert Riders will start at 8 am from Broadbent Park. Your division will ride to your segments, WH Hill and Rob’s K**b first.
All other divisions will take off from Broadbent Park to the Ward Mountain and Ice Plant segments at 8:15am.

The forecast is calling for hotter temps than usual. Aide stations are few and far between. You are highly encouraged to carry extra water with you and to accept it when it’s offered to you.
There is a hard cut off time this year. If riders are not to the top of Stage 3 by 2pm you will be sent back to town with a DNF. Sorry, it sucks sometimes but it is how it has to be to keep the event moving down in the park and to respect our volunteer’s time.

Broadbent Park is the best part anyway! We will be throwing the best bike party in Eastern Nevada! When you are done, please come check in at the scoring station and get your complimentary racer pint glass and beverage. There will be 2 food trucks in the park where you can redeem your food voucher, as well as, in Smash n Grab restaurant in the Jailhouse Casino. Your meal is included with your registration. We will also have the Ely Sno Shaved Hawaiian Ice Stand in the park as well as co****le boards and disc golf baskets. Make sure to check out the NICA booth and support the local youth mountain bike team. The music will be bumpin’ and kegs from Shoetree Brewery will be flowing. All the beer money all goes to build and maintain trails in White Pine County. So drink up! The awards ceremony and raffle will start as soon as our last rider checks in.
As usual, we have some amazing prizes to raffle off this year. Buy tickets! If you don’t play you can’t win. Make sure to stay till the end to cheer on the king and queen of mountain biking in Ely when we present the winners of the pro men and women divisions. As always, we award equal prize money to the men and women and this year we have some stylee wearables for the pro winners so they can flex their MTB dominance all over town.
We are looking forward to another great year of riding with you. Safe travels and we will see you on the trail!

We are so proud of our team and can’t wait for you to race in Reno next weekend 😎🎉

Today the team had the opportunity to hang out with Kirk Nelson from IBB Cyclery in Ivins, UT. Kirk has raced triathlons at the pro level and has coached college triathletes. He talked to our team about race strategy, training, effort, pacing, cornering, and nutrition. It was such an excellent opportunity for our team and coaches! Thank you Kirk!
