Profit First is a financial management strategy designed to help business owners prioritize profit over revenue. The idea behind Profit First is to allocate a percentage of income for profit first, then to use the remaining funds to cover expenses. This way, the business owner ensures that they always have enough money for themselves and can avoid the trap of spending more than they earn.
The Profit First system typically involves breaking down revenue into various accounts, with each account designated for a specific purpose. For example, a percentage of revenue may be allocated to a profit account, a tax account, an owner's compensation account, and an operating expenses account.
By focusing on profit first, business owners are forced to make intentional decisions about how they spend their money. Instead of putting all revenue towards expenses and hoping that there's something left over at the end of the month, business owners can prioritize their financial goals and ensure that they always have a cushion for unexpected expenses or economic downturns.
Overall, the concept of Profit First is about creating a sustainable and profitable business by putting profit at the forefront of financial decision-making.
Jewish Business Secret # 22 - Money has no religion.
I’m Vegas this at the ASD show, but don’t let the bravado in this picture fool you…
Let me explain to you how we got here.
One night last month I was in my room, I couldn’t fall asleep. I remember feeling anxious. I lacked clarity on how to get to the next the level.
After speaking with my coach, I decided to write a 30 day plan.
I wrote my goals for my health, my marriage, my family, my relationship with God, and of course, my business.
One of the things on the list was to attend a trade show in the States. I needded to find buyers and suppliers for one my new businesses.
After doing a little research, I shelled out a few thousand bucks and I booked this show.
In the Uber on the way to the conference, I called my coach in a panic.
“I’ve never been to this show, I don’t know what I’m doing, and I’m nervous I’m not going to succeed.” I said on the phone.
“Be playful with it, take the pressure off. You’re there to learn.” she said.
I was pumped to go in.
I walked into the show like a lion.
Within the first two hours I was chewed up and spit out five different times.
I called my coach again.
It filled me back up with confidence.
I went back into the game.
We started pounding for opportunity like machines.
And then…
We hit one!
And then another one!
And then at least 7 or 8 more!
We were on a roll baby🔥!!!
We ended the day ontop of the world.
We loaded up on opportunities that we never thought possible, thank you God.
Today is day two of the show. We’re coming in hot.
Moral of the story is…
1. Make a plan.
2. Take some risks.
3. Get yourself a great coach that will help you through the uncertainty.
