Alhamdulillah! It's the last 10 days of Ramadhan. One of these remaining nights will be Lailatul Qadr In Shaa Allah. Try your best to do a lot of good deeds and make a lot of dua. Don't skip any prayers even the sunnah ones. Give sadaqah however small you can. May we observe the grandest night of Qadr. Ameen!🖤

*RAMADAN DIGEST*
*The Prophet was the most generous in Ramadan*
*Ibn `Abbas* (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated:
*"The Prophet (ﷺ) was the most generous amongst the people, and he used to be more so in the month of Ramadan when Jibreel visited him, and Jibreel used to meet him on every night of Ramadan till the end of the month. The Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite the Qur'an to Jibreel, and when Jibreel met him, he used to be more generous than a fast wind (which causes rain and welfare)."*
[Saheeh al-Bukhari, #1902 & #3554]
*In another narration:*
*Ibn 'Abbas* (may Allah be pleased with them) reported:
*"That Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was the most generous of people in charity, but he was generous to the utmost in the month of Ramadan. Jibreel (peace be upon him) would meet him every year during the month of Ramadan until it ended, and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) recited to him the Qur'an; and when Jibreel met him Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was most generous in giving charity like the blowing wind."* [Saheeh Muslim, #2308]
*COMMENTARY:*
*The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), was the best of mankind and the most obedient to his Lord, and it is from his tradition that he used to increase his acts of worship during the blessed month of Ramadan.*
*Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim* (may Allah have mercy upon him) said:
*“The Prophet, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was the most generous of all people, but the time he spent the most was during the month of Ramadan, and he used to increase his recitation of the Quran, prayers, mentioning Allah and I’tikaaf (i.e. residing in the mosque with the intention of worship)."*
*Likewise, the Companions and the early generations of Muslims were especially generous during the month of Ramadan.*
*Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim* (may Allah have mercy upon him) said:
*“There is a difference between being generous in charity and being wasteful: a generous person spends his charity in proper channels, whilst the wasteful person might spend extravagantly in places where it is not needed, and in places where spending is direly needed.”*
His saying, *“Allah’s messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم was the most generous of all the people”*
Meaning, *the most generous in giving charity, and this is a praiseworthy characteristic.*
*At-Tirmidhi* recorded a narration reported by *Sa’ad*: *“Verily, Allah is generous and loves generosity.”*
In a similar narration, *Anas* said, *“The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم was the most courageous of the people and the most generous of the people.”*
His saying, *“and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan.”*
*Some said that the wisdom is that the increased study and revision of the Quran during Ramadan renews the prosperity of the soul which in turn leads to increased generosity (and good doing in general).*
*Technically or in the Shari'ah the word (جود) generosity means giving what is due to whom it is due, and it is more general than Sadaqah. Also Ramadan is the season of good, when the blessings of Allah upon his servants are increased, So the Prophet used to favor the Sunnah (way) of Allah in dealing with the servants of Allah. So this combination of the preferred time (Ramadan) and the increased revision of the Quran during that time resulted in an increase in generosity.*
His saying, *“Allah’s messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم was the most generous person, even more generous (faster) than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds).”*
*His hasting and speed to be generous was faster than the wind. The strong wind was used as a comparison due to its sustained blowing which is a mercy, and indicating that his generosity benefits all in his path as the wind touches all that is in its path.*
*Imam Ahmad* recorded in his narration of this same hadith, *“He صلى الله عليه و سلم was not asked anything except that he gave it.”*
This addition is authentic as it was also recorded in the hadith of *Jaabir*, *“The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم never declined when he was asked.”*
*Imam An-Nawawi* (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned *benefits of this hadith as follows;*
1. *Encouragement to be generous at all times.*
2. *The virtue of increased generosity during Ramadan.*
3. *The virtue of increased reading of the Qur'an during Ramadan because it is the best type or remembrance (of Allah), had normal remembrances (Adhkaar) been equal to the recitation of the Qur'an then he صلى الله عليه و سلم would have done that.*
*Also, this is an indication that the beginning of the revelation of the Qur'an was in Ramadan, because the descending of the Qur'an to the first heaven during Ramadan is verified by the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas. Jibreel used to come to the Prophet during Ramadan and review with him all that was revealed since the previous Ramadan, and during the last year of the Prophet’s life Jibreel reviewed the Quran with him twice during Ramadan as was reported by Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her).*

*QIYAAM AL-LAYL,THE PRACTISE / CUSTOM OF THE RIGHTEOUS*
*BilAal, Abu Umamah, Abu ad-Darda’, Salman and Jabir ibn Abdullah* (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
*“Hold fast to Qiyaam al-Layl, for it is the practice of the righteous before you, and indeed Qiyaam al-Layl brings you closer to Allah, the Most High, a means of prevention from sin, an expiation for bad deeds, and a barrier for the body against disease.”*
[Sunan at-Tirmidhi, #3549; classed as Saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel, #452 & Saheeh al-Jaami', #4079]
*COMMENTARY:*
*Qiyaam al-layl is Sunnah mu’akkadah (a confirmed Sunnah). Many texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah encourage it and speak of its high status and great reward.*
*Qiyaam al-layl plays a great role in strengthening one's faith and helping one to do good deeds.*
Allah says: 1. O you wrapped up! 2. Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. 3. Half of it or less than that, a little. 4. Or a little more. And Rattil the Qur'an Tar-teel. 5. Verily, We shall send down to you a Word Thaqeel. 6. Verily, rising (Nashi'ah) at night is better for understanding and more suitable for speech (recitation).
*[Q73:1-6]*
*Allah praises those who have faith and are pious for their noble characteristics and good deeds, one of the most special of which is qiyaam al-layl.*
Allah says:
15. Only those believe in Our Ayat, who, when they are reminded of them, fall down prostrate, and glorify the praises of their Lord, and they are not proud. 16. Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend out of what We have bestowed on them. 17. No person knows what is kept hidden for them of delights of eyes as a reward for what they used to do.
*[Q32:15-17]*
*And from the Hadith quoted above:*
*“The custom of the righteous”*
means, *it was their usual practise.*
*“It brings you closer to Allah”*
means, *it is an act of worship by means of which one may draw closer to Allah.*
*“and prevents misdeeds”*
means, *it prevents one from committing sin.*
Allah says:
*“Verily, As‑Salaah (the prayer) prevents from Al‑Fahsha’ (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual in*******se) and Al‑Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed)”*
*[Q29:45]*
*From this we may note the virtues and benefits of Qiyaam al-layl and its good consequences that cannot be ignored; it is one of the means of avoiding the punishment of Hell and attaining Paradise, and we may note the great blessing it brings of conversing with the Lord. May Allah make us among those who attain success thereby.*

*ALLAH WILL GRANT EASE AFTER HARDSHIP*
Allah says:
7. *"... Allah will grant after hardship, ease."*
[Q65:7]
*As-Sa'di* (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
*"This is good news for the insolvent (those who are in debts) that Allah Almighty will remove their distress and relieve them of their hardship."*
[Tafseer As-Sa'di]
*A Story of a Woman who had Taqwa*
Allah's statement;
*"سَيَجْعَلُ اللَّهُ بَعْدَ عُسْرٍ يُسْراً"*
*"Allah will grant after hardship, ease."*
Meaning, *This is a sure promise from Him, and indeed, Allah's promises are true and He never breaks them.*
This is an Allah's saying;
*"فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْراً - إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْراً"*
*"Verily, along with every hardship is relief. Verily, along with every hardship is relief."*
[Q94:5-6]
*There is a relevant Hadith that we should mention here. Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Hurairah said:*
*"A man and his wife from an earlier generation were poor. Once when the man came back from a journey, he went to his wife saying to her, while feeling hunger and fatigued, `Do you have anything to eat' She said, `Yes, receive the good news of Allah's provisions.' He again said to her, `If you have anything to eat, bring it to me.' She said, `Wait a little longer.' She was awaiting Allah's mercy. When the matter was prolonged, he said to her, `Get up and bring me whatever you have to eat, because I am real hungry and fatigued.' She said, `I will. Soon I will open the oven's cover, so do not be hasty.' When he was busy and refrained from insisting for a while, she said to herself, `I should look in my oven.' So she got up and looked in her oven and found it full of the meat of a lamb, and her mortar and pestle was full of seed grains; it was crushing the seeds on its own. So, she took out what was in the mortar and pestle, after shaking it to remove everything from inside, and also took the meat out that she found in the oven.''*
*Abu Hurairah* added, *"By He in Whose Hand is the life of Abu Al-Qasim (Prophet Muhammad )! This is the same statement that Muhammad said:*
*"Had she taken out what was in her mortar and not emptied it fully by shaking it, it would have continued crushing the seeds until the Day of Resurrection.''*
[Tafseer Ibn Katheer]
