Meet the team, and see why we donate!

Hello! My name is Jessica and I did my undergrad in neuroscience at McGill University. I’m a 2nd year student in Vancouver and just got back after taking a leave when my dad was diagnosed with leukemia. He’s the reason why I’m interested in blood and stem cell donations (I was a stem cell donor myself, AMA about it!) Blood type: O+

Hi, I’m Julia! I did my undergrad at UOttawa in kinesiology. I’m now a first year at VFMP. I got interested in blood donation after my mom used over 50 blood bags and 100 units of platelets during her battle with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. My goal is to get 500 donations, in honor of those 500 donors who immensely helped my mother during her last year of life. Blood type: O- (the universal donor)

Hi, I’m Iman! My undergrad was at SFU where I studied biology and anthropology. I’m now a 1st year (c2024) in VFMP. I first got involved with Canadian Blood Services in 2014 when I noticed that a lot of my peers (at SFU) had never been engaged in conversations about blood and stem cell donations. Since then, I have been working to increase awareness for these lifesaving donations. Blood type: A+
