Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Ida () developed a love and passion for coffee at a young age—picking ripe coffee cherries with her mom on her uncle’s farm. With no formal business education or experience, but eager to start a small business that provided a balance of family and work life, her husband Wade encouraged Ida to follow one of her passions -coffee. The idea was born on June 1,2018, and the one and only all coffee themed online store www.isayitwithcafe.com was launched on July 27, 2018, just two months after. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With unparalleled effervescence and energy, Ida and her business have made coffee believers out of family, neighbors, Dearborn Chamber members, local businesses and the community-at-large. In addition to the online store that offers fair trade organic coffee from Latin America, and direct trade coffee from Puerto Rico, coffee-themed items, gift baskets, and coffee subscriptions, you’ll find Ida and I Say It With Café () engaged in a variety of Detroit area activities. Through coffee tasting experiences and other events, Ida is teaching the community that coffee is more than a drink, it’s a way of bringing people together. With anticipated opportunities for retail and wholesale, Ida and I Say It With Café are showing people how to share the coffee love, and to "say it with café".

Personal Fun Fact: Ida is actually an admitted attorney in Puerto Rico. Before she moved to the continental US in 2011, she and one of her best friends owned a small law firm, where she practiced family and contract law. Her attorney license is still active. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I took some time off this weekend to enjoy my family and just recharge! Sometimes it’s healthy to get off social media and have a mental health day (or two) off!

Fatmeh Mazloum is the founder of Crescent Design Co, and Farah Afra helps her with the social media aspect of the business. They are two strong women who love personalized designs. Their entrepreneurial project started when they wanted to decorate their houses for Ramadan, and saw a lack of affordable Islamic/ Arabic home decor. They then decided to take matters into their own hands. Friends and family encouraged them to turn their passion into a business, and make their products available to the community.

Their best piece of advice for achieving success:
“Surround yourself with women who believe in lifting one another up, not shooting each other down to get ahead. Persevere, work hard and don't give up when faced with obstacles. Also, remember that your sustenance and provision is predetermined by God. Even if you have competition, you will only have what God has deemed for you to receive.”
