We love our New Smyrna Beach Days for Girls Team! We meet once a month to share laughs and work on making sustainable menstruation supplies for girls and women in need. And yesterday we shared yummy carrot cake!

These girls and women are receiving training and kits, made by our Days for Girls New Smyrna Beach FL Team. They were so well received by this group of women in South America that they have requested more kits which we will joyfully provide!
What an incredible team! Days for Girls NSB met in person on March 16th for our first Kit construction event. We had over 3000 components, all sewn by our team since we began last April, which we put together making about 250 kits. Many thanks to all the preparatory work done in advance by smaller groups from our team which made Kit making a breeze. Each kit represents a changed life, blessing the woman or girl recipient with menstruation supplies that can last them 3 years!!!

Our mission team in Honduras just let me know that they conducted training on 5 occasions this week and distributed 395 kits. Wow! This is to girls and women in the remote mountains of western Honduras. We kicked off Days for Girls there in February of 2020 where we did close to 350 kits. This team did even better! This translates to 395 changed lives this week. What a blessing!

Today some of our team members gathered outside to fold liners and un**es that will very soon become a part of a kit that will change the Days for a Girl in need. We have confirmed that some kits will go to Guatamala. Meanwhile, our mission team in Honduras continued to educate girls and women and then distribute kits to very happy recipients!
Days for Girls International won the .ORG Award for 2020! There are over 2.5 million ".org" organizations and there were 500 nominations for this prestigious award. And there are 1000 teams across the world and I'm feeling very blessed that New Smyrna Beach is one of them!
Our team started last March with 8 women and are now 37 strong. In 2020, our team completed 2,902 sewn components- an amazing feat for a new, growing team during a pandemic.
Our team rocks! We completed 276 components in the month of June, a whopping 70% increase over May's completed work!
May was our first full week as a team and we were thrilled with our accomplishment. But June is a mind blower!
Thank you to all our team members for stepping up to do so much for girls and women who are in such great need of what we do. And for being such a joy!
New Smyrna Beach Fl Days for Girls Team completed the sewing of 162 components our first month!! We are so thrilled with this team and look forward to exceeding these numbers in the month of June. We also had the donation of a quality serger! How cool is that!!!
May 28th is Menstrual Hygiene Day!
An annual awareness day to highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene management for girls worldwide and to help make it possible. The 28th of the month was selected to acknowledge that 28 days is the average length of the menstrual cycle.
Days for Girls New Smyrna Beach is now an official team, committed to making sustainable reusable menstrual supplies for girls and women locally and internationally.
