The Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) allows students to learn about the electrical trade through mentorship and technical instruction. This costs the student NOTHING, and they actually receive a paycheck while they are in the program!

The average starting wage for a RAP participant is $15/hour. The average starting salary for a graduate who completes the program is $60,000/year! This means no debt, an in-demand career path, access to benefits, and the opportunity to earn more through scheduled pay raises!

Students will obtain NCCER and OSHA-10 certifications, and will be eligible to sit for their Journeyman's license, opening even more doors for them down the road!

The Hernando School Board welcomed a partnership between Simpson Technical College and ABC Florida East Coast Chapter (Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.). At Tuesday's board meeting, ABC's COO Nathan Ferree discussed various apprenticeships in the construction field the company offers, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, line erector, roofing, fire sprinkler and pipe fitting. Currently, the organization is the largest in Florida and among the largest in the nation! We are excited about this partnership!
