On Friday I woke with the worst migraine. As I was making her lunchbox I could feel my steps in my head and I just knew I’d be one of those bad ones. Decided to call her school to let them know Esmèe would not attend school as we would take the day to rest. Migraines are no joke. I do know what triggers them or how to naturally cure them when they get bad.

My instinct always brings me to water. To drink it and to be in it. I hydrated myself and took a long warm bath. I captured this moment because I relized how beautiful it was that my 5yr old understands that some days we NEED to rest. That not everyday we feel the best and that it is OK. She sat there next to me and kept me company. Told me “cuentos” (stories) that she created and even sang to me. My heart was melted! Through the day she knew I would be mostly resting and she really kept her energy calm and did lots of independent play. How lucky am I to call her my daughter and that her beautiful soul chose mine to accompany each other in this lifetime.

#2 on my 2023 resolutions is buying consciously. Recently got these recycled rubber sole with natural canvas vamp slides for Esmèe and officially obsessed. Easy everyday shoe. We use these year round since we don’t get winter weather . 🫶✨
