Learned a lot at this year’s CABE (Connecticut Association of Boards of Education) conference. It’s so important for BOE members to invest time in our professional development. And it was so much fun to connect with smart and thoughtful board members from our district, as well as across the state.
The CSDE in partnership with the five Eastern Woodland Tribes of Connecticut published curricular resources for use in the classroom. Each tribe has created lesson plans, tribal histories, and primary sources that can be found on the Teaching Native American Studies webpage. These authentic resources tell the stories of each individual tribe in their words.
