Reducing plastic waste doesn’t have to mean buying new items - many alternatives can be low cost, if not free! We love how our friend Dr Anita Vandyke shares ideas to avoid single-use utensils by choosing reusables, with options for every budget.

Dr. Vandyke suggests always using what you have first before buying anything new. Here are her tips:
• BUDGET option: Make your own reusable zero-waste utensil kit by wrapping a cloth napkin around utensils already in your home. No need to buy anything new, just wrap everything in a neat bundle and grab it on the go!
• INVESTMENT option: For those who prefer a more organized kit, investing in a reusable utensil set can be very handy, especially for hiking or traveling. These kits often come with chopsticks and various types of straws, making them convenient for families with children.

The most sustainable choice is to use what you already have. If buying something new is necessary, consider secondhand options or invest in the best quality you can afford.

I hope you had a lovely time over Christmas and New Year and are ready for what 2023 will bring.

The last few months have been difficult for me to say the least. I have been flying solo since June and I have had many ups and downs. Juggling the shop, pop ups, markets, the online store, work and life in general has proved harder than I imagined.

With this said, I have decided to close the business. I want to thank everyone who has supported us and I wish you all well for the future. It has been so rewarding to contribute to protecting the environment in this way, I have learnt so much and I have many happy memories of this experience.

I’m planning to close the online shop on the 15th March 2023.

I have let a couple of balls drop, as you can imagine, running a business and juggling work has been tricky! I feel like it’s a slow learning curve but I am on the up! So I have quite a few...

I have made up a rice pudding mix, 127g (£1), broth mix, 250g (£1), super seed mix, 210g (£1.50) and fruit & nut muesli, 235g (£1.50).

All ingredients are ethically source and the packaging is 100% biodegradable and compostable.
