The Runnymede is ahead of the game promoting its meeting spaces. From 17th May you can meet in their fabulous reception lounge area but you’ll have to book in advance and there is a £30 pp fee including unlimited tea coffee and water with a lunch meal.
Private meeting rooms for 6-30 are also available and socially distanced of course.

A big part of our business is being the creative force behind corporate events. Or perhaps we should say ‘was’. It has been a tough year in the events world but there is optimism for the future and maybe this is the opportunity for big change. The events sector is worth £60 billion but government appears to be letting it fall by the wayside. This is one of the sectors I am involved in and I have created many international high profile amazing events including glamorous awards ceremonies, 3 day conferences, bank investor days, golf days, parties, food fairs, product launches, weddings etc and there is a major commercial impact on every supplier to the industry right along the chain from venues to AV companies to caterers to furniture hire to entertainers and to organisers like me who bring all the elements together. I do not understand why the government is not even allowing COVID SAFE events to happen such as 6 to a table etc. It has not even been covered in the media properly who appears to be grouping it under’hospitality’ (which is another sector I have business interest in but that’s a whole other story). Virtual and hybrid events are ok but it’s not the same as bringing people and teams together. Do you really want to sit in front of a screen for 3 days watching an online conference programme? It’s not quite the same is it? It only really works if it is run like a TV show with professional presenters. Many connections and deals are made stronger by connecting with people in person.
The events industry has been very badly hit with no real start date in sight. I have however revamped our website to focus on events ready for when the business can return.

The events sector is asking for more government help. So today is the day thousands from the UK events industry make a stand and fight for the 1 million event professionals affected across the events supply chain - with so many jobs lost and the industry in despair
We are calling for meaningful support from the Government until the industry is allowed to operate in a way that is not limited by social distancing policies including:
1. Grants – not loans – made available to all businesses in the events supply chain
2. Furlough scheme extended until the industry is back to work
3. Extension of the self-employment scheme, tailored specifically towards the events industry
4. Financial and employment support for freelancers, those that have slipped through the cracks and those made redundant as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the meantime I am looking for marketing and PR projects helping businesses promote their companies and brands. So please refer me or get in touch if I can help.
