After COVID shut the world down for the past couple of years, there’s been nowhere to sail. But we’re back out on the sea, getting ready to sail on… this is our grandson, Liam, helming this 46’ beast clocking over 7.5kts. He handled her like a natural, for hours!
Let’s do this!!!!

In case you wondered where our old school busses (skoolies) go to die…it’s Central America!
And boy, do they resurrect ‘em!
This bad boy was bought in bulk at auction in the US and brought down to Guatemala where the owner bought and ‘blinged’ it out for a total of 70,000 Quetzals ($10k USD).

What if...the question around the table this holiday season was NOT "What are you grateful for?" but instead, "What are YOU doing to change the world because you're so grateful?"
We ALL know better. We ALL need to DO better. Even if it's something small like refusing single use plastics or using reusable shopping bags. But we're out of time. We have to do something about this plastic epidemic or we will not have anything left to protect. There are tons of things you can start doing now and do them everyday. It's up to us. We have no planet "B".
Merry Christmas from the crew 🎄

When out at sea for weeks at a time, dealing with trash can be challenging. We try to limit as much packaging as possible when purchasing our goods and we end up cutting up what we are left with. It becomes so important to as much as we possibly can, since many of out destinations are not equipped to deal with our either.
We're always happy to learn new ideas, so what do YOU do (if anything) to your production of waste?

Yes, you can careen a monohull!
Good morning from El Salvador
We had a girl’s day on S/V Litha (Life off the deep end) with Matt & Britt's Wanderlust Adventure from S/V Malolo, complete with mimosas, hair color and dreadlock maintenance. Thanks Kim and Britt for a super fun day.
My favorite time of day...I love my sunrise watches! (Wait for it!)
Brent’s watches are usually from 10pm to around 4 or 5am, where I start with a big pot of tea, sit in the cockpit and watch the sun come up. I’ll often hear dolphins which is so cool when you’re along on watch.
What’s your favorite time of day?

While diving Isla Socorro, we dove with hundreds of sharks, giant mantas, dolphins, giant tuna and morray eels and more...but this little toothy guy was the most terrifying and aggressive I've come across!

Women Who Sail Group Page
This is our friend, Jeanne, who is about to make history and land her 3rd (yes, THIRD) Guinness Book World Record. If any of you are in the area tomorrow who can welcome her as she arrives, this will be spectacular to witness. She will go down in history to be the oldest person to sail around the world, SOLO, non-stop and unassisted! 23,000 nautical miles and 11 months, go Jeanne! ⛵️🙌💪
Within a few hours Jeanne Socrates will become the oldest person (not 'just' woman, but oldest person, man or woman) to sail solo around the world non-stop and unassisted! She is hours away from finishing this historic sail. She is 77 years young!
The Royal Victoria Yacht Club is encouraging sailors with boats to meet her for a welcome flotilla. You can follow their page and CHEK News: Official Page for updates. (Update in first comment below.)
Incredible moment. Will you be there? We'd love to see pictures!
Sunups and sundowns...my two favorites times of day on

El Salvadoran woman taking her chickens to market. I asked to take her picture and she threw up this beautiful smile as I snapped this shot and gave her some change for her time.
The El Salvadorian people are some of the friendliest we’ve met.
Day trip up the coast to renowned surf spot . Had some beer 🍺 and some 🦐 Saw some goats and a deer at the restaurant. Life is good.

Our 10th and final day at sea. Sunrise this morning revealed 5 of the 7 volcanoes that can be seen from the coast of El Salvador.

Brent takes the night watch from 9/10pm and I have the sunrise watch until he wakes up in the afternoon, where we spend awake together, lunch and dinner.

I can now comfortably tack and gybe by myself, as well as set us up "wing on wing". The spinnaker pole has been our most used item this trip. All is well.

Crossing day. The Tahuantpec can be brutal. Winds have picked up and shifted to SSW and we are seeing SOG up to 10kts. More Orcas followed us for an hour!

He took off and we finished our bathing and started the engine. All of a sudden he's there playing in our wake!! Over and over! Then appeared 2 sharks!
