Trav City, I've been waiting to get my hands on these bottles.

One of the only bottles I have never opened.
It's not for a lack of trying! I once put it in a pile of bottles that I wanted to open for my birthday and never got to it.
Have you had the barrel select "gr***de"? What did you think?
Adding two more signed bottles to the collection.
What bottles to do you have signed in you selection?
Last night and myself went on a tasting expedition to find a great blend for Florida.
I have to say, itβs the first time I am excited for a Canadian Whisky. More to come. Keep an eye on page. π
You wanna talk about a great blended whisky, and knows what they're doing.
I had the honor of hanging out for an awesome Compass Box tasting at Gaspar's a few weeks ago and enjoyed every minute. Even though some may turn their nose to an Independent Bottler like Compass Box, I will always be a fan. From this Glasgow Blend to their No Name series I can think of one I wouldn't want on my shelf.
What do you think about Independent Bottlers? Which do you favor?

Regular or barrel pick? Everyone knows how good single barrel Russell's is on it's own but private barrel picks throws this juice to another level!!!! Huge thanks to for helping me acquire this pick.

It's never a full moment when you're hanging out with friends.
As some may know every other week (or so) I get together to have a whiskey tasting with some great guys. We all bring a bottle that's been unopened. I always try to bring a bottle that will be half empty by the end of the night.
This week I grabbed a bottle of Cask Strength Rye because I knew it was going to be a favorite. Let's just say I am going to need to go and grab another. π€£
The only challenge with cooking with whiskey is deciding which one to drink.
For sauteed sweet onions, Jefferson's Ocean hits the spot. On top of that to pair with a steak and a pour, it doesn't do too bad either.
How do you pair your pours and plates?
What an absolutely awesome for today!
As some may know, I have had Front 9, a 6 year bourbon from Bushwood and it lasted maybe 2 weeks and it was gone. So I have high hopes for these two bottles.
Bushwood Long Ball, and Stillwater Rye. Both are coming from Kentucky. Thanks to for these two bottles. Can't wait to tear into them.

You know you've had a really good time when you kill an entire bottle of Wild Turkey 101.
On Saturday we hosted an engagement party for my wife's cousin. My job you may ask? Make old fashions for anybody that wanted one, and boy did I make them.
I'm usually a rye fan when it comes to old fashioned however 101 had the right amount of spice that sets the party right. I also made a coffee simple syrup which went really well with the aromatic and an orange bitters.
Looks like I'll need to go to the store again.
Do you ever just know that tonight you're going to stand in front of this for a few and ponder which one to grab?
I already know that it's Monday, and that is for sure going to happen.
How about you?
Happy International Scotch Day!
Every February 8th is International Scotch Day. It's a global celebration of Scotch whisky. It's the day to share about your experiences with a dram, a story, and content about Scotch whiskey.
I might go live tonight to talk about mine.
Still working on getting these two filled.
It has been such a pain finding new make whiskey for these barrels. All the white whiskey out there seems to want to have some kind of sugar cane in it.
If you know of any brands that have "new make" on the shelves post in the comments and I will keep my eyes open for them.
Nothing like meeting people from the whiskey community. I love it.
Seriously... Get out there and find this. It's worth it.
On a hot day, why not some 107 proof Whiskey?
Nassif Family Reserve is an American blended whiskey with a 14 year light whiskey, and a 3 year 10 month Bourye. As for the pour it does not drink like it's proof. The light whiskey hits the best with not so much on the front, but that wonderful sweetness on the end. Mid way through you get a little spice, but very approachable.
The DalΓ‘ will get it's own review soon. Handrolled right here in Cigar City by **rs . I'm excited to give it a go, but I want to pair it with a fuller whiskey.
What are y'all up to today?
